Both correct but the answer is you don't lube the back of the main bearings only the side touching the crank!

Wiped it up and it's all set now just waiting on the engine lift to come back from Guido's.

I don't know Honda #'s and letters, is this going to be Stroked 1.8 sohc 8v ?

          no stroked 1.6 to 1.7L

honda hasnt made an 8v motor in a few decades anything after 89 is all 16v with some 12v to 16v vtec-e models that run 12v below 2500rpm then open up to 16v

The main thing though is look at the tq! 100+ftlbs from 2000rpm to 7000rpm that's a pretty broad range that is hard to find in the Honda world

On your other question of what CR it will have you can pretty much set it to what you want, to get the pistons just about level mill the block .030 then it all depends on the head a y8 will put you a bit over 10.5:1 a z6 right around 10:1 use the calculator over on zeal auto works to dial in the CR you want

And if you have a gsr swapped car and it's stock I would love to test it out too!
well its kind of hard to find a stock one, as in airbox and exhaust, but I have a buddy that has one in a 96-98 4 door. I have seen a stock GSR dyno around 168whp and 122trq with an intake and a muffler. So well see how it goes. Let me know when your ready and well figure it out

Yeah it would be fun for sure this will be in a Crx so it will be very very close that's for sure! But a gsr swap goes for what 2000 once all the part for the swap are there, this cost 10% of that granted the potential of a gsr is much better.

I get it... but I absolutely LOL'd at this.
I may be a boost/torque snob, but I haven't had a car make less than 250lb of torque @ 2k rpm in 12 years. I can't see myself being excited about 100lb/ft.. ever.
                certainly not after a stroker/motor-swap.

again... I do get it.. and I always appreciate work like this, but it's funny to see someone excited for 100 lb of torque

Haha no I get it but it's cheap as hell easy to do, and I have a turbo for it already

Plus it going in a 1900lb car it doesn't take much at all to be fun

Well if we are talking street values, they could be around the same price

I agree, I laughed my self since my 28year old 8v dyno'd 120wtq and its all oem . And that was on a land and see dyno . Would be higher on a dyno jet .

I was going to say I'd run ya when it was done but guess that's put of the question now..

for some vids of how the motor turned out and how its running here are a couple of vids!

still needs a bit more timing in the top end I think I could add as much as 5* I made the basemap pretty conservative
