^^ my tc has some sort of economy thing built in the computer. you have to basically run the balls out of it for a but then the comp will let you have power. if you dont she's not very speedy...

also mr2's are pretty known for this... they like heat... but of course only for so long... then they get too hot and really start droppin power...

ya i've heard of a few other engines that this concept applies to, might be a myth though...

with the Diablo tuner, how much can you adjust or get rid of on a Dodge Ram computer? getting ready to start my Hemi Malibu build and gonna need some stuff disabled when it's running. stuff like the ABS and torque management. also not gonna run any cats since it's a '78. also not sure how it'll like not having all the evap crap on it.

Pro-Tree in Hudson holds the license for all the Diablo Sport software, but I'm sure he won't mind if I borrow it to do your car.

I can tune out just about any code, and the P0420 (cat inefficiency) is a cake one. ABS is a chasis code, so it won't matter anyway . Only thing that you'll have to do for me, is wire in the OBD diagnostic port. That's my "portal" to the ECU and without it, I can't do anything.

Let me know when you need my help and we can git-r-done

Planning on a very moderate KA-T build on the vert for some fun in the sun, before the LSX swap takes form. My question to you, is are you familiar with Nistune? Also any other engine management systems the 240 guys use that you might recommend. Let's keep this budget now of course haha. All I seem to find is Nistune and JWT. Eventually I want to go AEM, but not until the LSX takes place.

Why not get a system that you can keep for both rather the one for now then buy another one for the swap.

Well sean its really hard to run a KA-T off of a stock LSx pcm. Running anything else on an LSx is just silly unless you need more than 3 bar map support. The e38 and other LSx pcm's are some of the best V8 stand alones you can buy for under 2 grand. Now nistune on the other hand, I hear it a complete piece of crap and a total #!#!#!#! show to tune with. Cant be worse than my computer though, stupid alpha-n.

I've done a few Nistune's, and it works well. If that's the way you want to go, we can certainly do that.

Thanks for the responses. Ill still keep looking to see what's out there. I just don't see the sense of running AEM on a setup once it blows up I'm done, ever since I found out its specific to its ecu once its in.

Alex, what does this dyno read up to? Any idea what Dana's does? Decided to ditch the single turbo in favor of twins. Should make some easy power now.
