but anyhow, with an NA car you need a certain degree of backpressure. that is truth.
    Well, not exactly...

    The terminology is off.

You want to keep velocity up in an NA app. That is one (of many) NA exhaust principles. This is why after a certain point, going bigger in your exhaust is pointless NA.

Just making more backpressure will not keep velocity up. The correct pipe size and the least restrictions (which cause "backpressure") will result in the best performance.

P.S. Thank you Brett, apparently everyone else on this site thinks I'm a dumbass. hah

Actually you do not need or want backpressure!! You want scavenging, which helps velocity. Backpressure hinders performance.

Not the truth. So if i had a 5 inch exhaust on my civic, but i had a restiction on the end that caused backpressure id be okay.. nope.

What you need is scavenging and velocity. People confuse backpressure with scavenging.

Furthermore. How much packpressure do nascar car have. None. What they do have is exhhaust manifols that utilize scavenging and velocity.

X axis is power in PS (HP = PS * 0.98632, so VERY similar values).

Y axis is a list of companies that make turbos

Dots are turbochargers from those companies. You would look up how much hp you want, and pick a turbo in that range.
