The good news is that the 4c can be swapped for standard suspension.
I believe it's a simple low-ohm resistor to make the controller happy, and you can run whatever suspension you'd like.

The angle gear, I've heard of, but have never had to research in-depth.
The Volvospeed guys talk about the upgrade like it's easy, but I have noooo idea.

Found an '06 LGT Spec B in Connecticut. Might try to look at that this weekend.

I have no idea what the current owner as done for work, and sadly, it's been a while since I've seen andy, so i don't know what came of it. Nothing stands out as being "wrong" with it.
IIRC, it was pretty quick and had some weird ceramic Sti turbo. vh39 or something?
Vf39 is a stock 04 sti turbo. Was the most popular one used until the newer ones came out.

It was something weird. some JDM/OEM ceramic wheeled turbo.
That was at least 4 years ago, though. When I had my 9-3, I believe.

Either way, Andy did take care of the car. I'm a little surprised it needed a rebuild. I'm curious if the turbo gave out and ended up in the engine. I doubt the cross-hatching would still be "new" looking if bits made their way into the engine, though.

I'm not even considering the Forester anymore, so I guess we'll never know.

I think I might just bite the bullet and get myself into a newer ('09+) WRX. I can afford payments, and haven't saddled myself with any extra responsibilities yet (no house, wife, or kids) so why not live a little.

^ Better get one while you can. Subaru just pulled the wraps off the latest WRX. No more hatchbacks-sedan only.

Visit Subaru of America for reviews, pricing and photos of Subaru Cars, Sedans, SUVs. Find a Subaru Retailer Information.

Aaaaaand not so fast. I noticed that the clutch felt pretty stiff on the test drive. I asked the salesman about it, and he said he had already asked the service people about it, and they said it was normal. After doing a little research today, it sounds like it could be a big problem. '08+ Imprezas of all varieties are suffering from broken spot welds on the firewall, leading to movement of the pedal assembly. It is apparently a widespread issue as there is a pending class-action lawsuit to try to force a recall.

A google search of "wrx broken welds" or similar will bring up tons of results.

                      The search continues....

It's a 2L.. but it's manual, xwd, and has maptun coilovers on it.
(If it's got maptun parts, the P/O cared for the car, as there are many cheaper options for the SS)

Since we're on the subject of turbocharged Subarus,I've been seriously thinking about going down to Staten Island to look at that Subaru RX 4WD Turbo that's on ebay. Has anyone had any experience dealing with EA18 series engines and any advice. In this car's case it's a EA18T.
