The good news is that the 4c can be swapped for standard suspension.

I noticed that the clutch felt pretty stiff on the test drive. I asked the salesman about it, and he said he had already asked the service people about it, and they said it was normal. After doing a little research today, it sounds like it could be a big problem. '08+ Imprezas of all varieties are suffering from broken spot welds on the firewall, leading to movement of the pedal assembly. It is apparently a widespread issue as there is a pending class-action lawsuit to try to force a recall.
