To me that's something where you can have fun on the weekend with, have plenty of space for groceries, yet can fit the kids if you have them in the back seat?

That and can drive decent in the winter, but tires can make some of the "worst" winter cars tolerable.

          That was not the discussion.

1st you said it was practical ... then you said it was not. I am face palming your indecisiveness. No point arguing with you as you just talk around everything.

Started with you saying this - The car has awesome potential. Nissan, honda, VW, and chevy can all learn a lesson (and should) from it.

When I just pointed out that Honda S2000 is a better sports car and the FRS is no more practical than a S2000. Having owned both.

Then you started going of about not being 2+2 . I dont know any car that labels itself as a 2+2 as practical Ever hear of a Taurus 2+2 ? or a Minivan 2+3+2 ... ect .

I am single and own my business. So I can be unpractical. I dont need to haul groceries , nor do I get in trouble if late to work due to weather Hell I own 3 unpractical cars

Performance cars come in many forms . So first if you live in NE STI/EVO would be the first choices if you want a fast grocery hauler. If you have money a AWD C4 911 makes the perfect Highend all weather car while making others cry.

I just thought it was funny you called out the other manufactures and I thought your were misguided. Because if the S2000 or even Miata took notes from the FRS they would be ruined. Both come with much better suspension , more reliable motors and are more fun to drive.

I'm thinking this is more of a misunderstanding than me talking around. So to clarify.

First off, The comment that you facepalmed to, was me making sure I understood your point, not changing my opinion.

I still feel that the BRZ is a good car as far as a "practical-performer" in the form of a 2-dr coupe. I think that honda should have either A. kept the S2000, or B. gone the route of a performing 2-door 2+2 RWD coupe. I never said anything about changing the S2000 or Miata into a "brz clone" but what current offering do any of these companies have in the form of a 2+2 2-door lightweight RWD car?

Last time I checked there is none (currently). THAT'S where the "lesson" to be learnt is. Not necessarily in just one aspect, but the package as a whole.

That's why I asked you this, I'm trying to understand your point on how a BRZ isn't "practical" when you shoot it down with something that I see as a less practical car.

              I get ya ...

Just funny to bag on other manufactures because of another. That would be like Honda fans telling Toyota to take lessons because they did not make a RWD Roadster. See my point

Understood, However I believe competition breeds improvement, and if other companies saw the market void they had been missing, and took a lesson on the missed opportunity by competing with Subaru/Toyota, we'd get some awesome cars out of it, at a good price range. /endrant

Back on topic. Said car's STI trim is rumoured to have a hybrid system based on designers comments about HP-smog ratio. Peoples feelings?

So the 2015 STI has been announced for a while and dealers should have stock in a month or two, but there's no thread about it..

Visit Subaru of America for reviews, pricing and photos of Subaru Cars, Sedans, SUVs. Find a Subaru Retailer Information.

I like the new design, seems like a Evo X and a GC8 STi had a baby. Not thrilled about them continuing the EJ257 in the new platform, the WRX got a the FA20DET mill. Anyone plugged into Subaru forums/rumor mills know if a new direct injected motor will be in the STI's future?
