Bluetooth OBDll and data apps for your phone ???

Kid at my work downloaded this app Torque pro for his tablet. You get a Bluetooth OBDll plug and you can get !ll your car info on your phone like a scan tool. He isn't a car guy at all and didn't know he needed the OBDll plug or know what it was for that matter ..lol.

Anyone use one of these apps or a Bluetooth OBDll plug. Seems like. Cool tool. I have my scan tool under my front seat and use it all the time. Be nice to be able to look at the basics nice and easy. The Bluetooth OBD plug can be upwards of $200 but there are cheap ones on eBay/amazon for $10-20.

I thought about getting one of those apps (not Torque, I forget the exact name) last year, but it didn't have very good reviews at the time. Bad, actually. I'd be interested to hear from someone who has used one though.

I'm planning on getting a cheap eBay obd2 plug. I have the app torque already.
A friend of mine uses it and absolutely loves it. I have the pro version. When I get the plug, I'll let you know how well the app and plug works.

I downloaded the app off pirate bay , doesn't seem to have all the options the video above does, I'm hoping that's just cause I haven't hooked up to a bluetooth . Make sure you order a plug that is compatible. In the play store it mentions a couple plugs that don't work.

You need a good Bluetooth reader to be able to use it for real time. Otherwise there is a ~.8 second delay. The cheap fleabay readers will work fine for code reading, readiness checks, data logging and code clearing.

It is very very car specific. Especially depending on what OBD bluetooth thing you buy. Cheap enough to be worth it though if you pick up one of the $15 ones from Ebay.

Edit: This gives you more info

Also if you look at the page of the adapter on Ebay it'll usually show compatibility as tested.

The Dash Boss app and OBDII connector are great; a little spendy compared to Torque - but much nicer IMHO.
                        Stock is boring.
