Intercooler sprayers.... usefull or usless ?

I plan on boxing the intake and turbo . Subtle solutions makes a shield with a chimney that's pretty cool but that's another topic for another thread.

are you still gonna get a turbo blanket and re-route the intake? those will help more than any sprayer will.

To me, if you need to cool your cooler, you need a better cooler I would go A2W with it! I just helped a buddy do it with his sti. HUGE temp difference. (and he had a sprayer on his top mount before) he had his sprayer hooked to a temperature relay. Had a small reservoir and pump for it all. I think he just used water. Nothing fancy

Clearly no one reads my posts .. I was trying to have a discussion on intercooler sprayers. Not the most efficient way.to cool my engine.

I originally was not getting enough air through my IC. So the idea of sprayers or fans was an idea. And that's why I had been looking for a way to cool my IC without buying a shroud and scoop. I now have a big scoop and shroud and my IC is much much cooler and I personally don't need anything .

Yes a front mount would help with heat soak and yes a ATW would be better but the title of the thread is ...... Intercooler sprayers.... Usefull or useless? Does spraying water actually do anything?

IMO if youre gonna try to cool ya cooler... co2 or bust, i seriously doubt that water evaporating off is gonna be as effective.

yes you feel cold after getting out of the shower, but drip co2 on your hand and see how that compares

i wouldnt do a crazy huge 30lb bottle, but just a simple paintball can somewhere easy to get to

Now that you have the larger scoop and shroud just save your money and put it towards meth injection. The initial cost (with failsafe/flow gauge) is expensive but after that a 5gallon container of meth will last you forever. Best way to get those intake temps down and gain the most power.

yea but so far most people say its not worth it and just get a water sprayer. I'm going to try the watger and see if it does anything since all I need to do is take the line off my rear window sprayer and run it to the nozzle that's already in the shroud. Can't hurt and won't cost anything.

Technically I don't have the scoop still ..lol but running the shroud as the scoop.

I know meth will do the trick but that's just one more thing to go wrong and with my luck.

Tune your car without Meth and run it as an additional cooling method. You'll still net more power and you don't have worry about a fail safe going wrong. That said, a properly installed fail safe meth system is no more likely to go bad than an oil pump, fuel pump etc - which are all just as likely to cost come serious coin.
