    Craigs SAAB story

Rebuilding and replacing the engine due to cracked pistons. Swaping heads, two exhaust studs broken on the head that came with the block, and it's a bit sludgy.

1993 Cadillac CST-V8 rear mount turbo, 12psi 10.56@123mph and burning up the ozone
    1995 Volvo 850 T5-R, 18psi with flashed ecu and bigger injectors, 315whp
1973 Chevy Nova with a Volvo B230FT and 4L60E, seriously different.
1994 Volvo 945, soon to be faster on 15psi

sort of, it's got better cams in it, the head will have ARP studs holding it down and i will probably revamp some of the charge piping, plus a bit more boost.

finished cleaning the mating surfaces on the block today and bagged it till assembly, going to clean the front cover this week and the oil pan soon, head is pretty well clean as it sits now, just need some gaskets and it will be bolt up time.

more progress, just need to torque the head and exhaust manifold, then bolt up the oil pan and it's time to bring the car in.

Rob, it looks amazing! You've done a ton to clean it up! Don't forget to pack/prime the oil-pump/pickup so we don't kill it at start-up!

engine cradle out, engine and trans unbolted, removed, new engine, clutch and new trans bolted up, installed in cradle and i'm about as tired as i could be, hoping there is less than 10 hours left in this project to get it into start up shape and then only a couple more after that.

I wish i could be there to help. I have to decide on the sway bars in the very near future. i have the bumper and headlights at my house. I figured id drive the car home without the bumper, but since you're going to be test driving it, I'll have to get it to you, soon. I can't imagine there's 10 hours left, either. You have no idea how excited i am to see this coming back together!
