    Tyranical Ninja

This will be a completely custom build, starting with a rolling chassis with front disc brakes and not much else. Power is comming from a 1986 Kawasaki Ninja 1000R engine (GPz1000RX).

The Ninja 1000R's engine cranked out 125 horsepower at 9,500 rpm and 66.4 foot-pounds of torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine had a compression ratio of 10.2 to 1.

The Ninja 1000R could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and could pass the quarter mile mark in 10.7 seconds with a speed of 128.5 mph.Top speed was 143 mph.

Wet weight for the bike loaded with full tank of gas, oil and coolant is 588lbs, that will be my goal, to keep the project as close to or under that weight.

Still working out the details in my mind, going to start this weekend in hopes to mount the engine to the rear end.

Pics of the Tyrant, these were not taken by me, they are only to show it's current state.

Yeah I can't wait to start working on it. Definitely gonna be awesome...I think the hardest part is going to be getting it to run and figuring out the electronics. The other stuff should be pretty easy. Just need to go online and get a shop manual for the bike if it didn't include one and that should make the wiring, etc really simple.

the wire harness is complete so it should just be a matter of plug and play once the carbs are cleaned out and the engine is mounted to the rear end, i enjoy the challenge and it was a reasonable price for the complete bike, all be it taken apart, and a buggy, gonna try to mount up the engine today, pics to follow tonight.

Yeah keep in mind that if the engine isn't hard-mounted then it will turn slightly under hard acceleration and may cause the chain to want to bend to accommodate the movement.

Too bad it doesn't have reverse!

Let me know how it goes. REALLY hope it runs easy etc.

Would it be worth stripping it down first and painting it first or do you not care?

don't really care at this point, bunch of stuff to fix first before paint, have the engine tacked into place, going to hard mount the cradle this morning then take some pics, it's a little bit crooked right now. this is definately 10lbs of s. in a 5lb bag, but the reward will be worth it, and i will have to design a jack shaft.

You may be able to borrow a clutch assy and chaincase/jack shaft from a snowmobile. Find a wrecked newer 600cc sled and that's the same 120hp you're working with, an 800 would be overkill but would never give you any issues structurally. Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but you can at least look up the parts online on the ski-doo, polaris, etc microfiche and take some ideas from them.

Looks great, keep up the good work. Make sure you inspect the welds on the frame and repair as necessary, maybe add some sort of top hoop and seat belt so we don't die when we flip it? lol

i was checkin out ebay earlier, think it may work, it's either that or bore out the sprocket cover and make a shaft to come out that and then down to the axle, either way, next step is to lock in the cradle and hook the wires up, clean the carbs and fire this thing up, it's not seized, checked last night. This is gonna rip!

Yeah definitely looking forward to it man. Whatever you decide to go with make sure it's strong enough, would be a shame to have it blow apart and take out part of the crankcase or something.
