For everyone's knowledge, can you only powdercoat metal items or can you powdercoat anything? Does it work on aluminum as well?

Glad to see you're offering this service--depending on where you are operating out of I may direct Jim your way in the future for powdercoating services should we need any.

You can powder coat aluminum but it takes more prep work and a lower heat I believe. I've read of people coating wood and fiberglass items but I don't know how they survived the oven...

I'd have to guess that to cure on wood or fiberglass that you would need to be able to get the temperature up fast then cool it off and maybe do it a few times. Just a guess though.

I've never heard of powder coating wood or fiberglass either. Don't you need an electric charge to attract the powder to the item?

You should look into chroming, or nickel plating etc. I cant say I can think of anything I need powder coated.

those are services Id be very interested in. Most places charge an arm and a leg and then you have to pay shipping both ways

i believe chrome and nickel plating require caustic chemicals, a great deal of electricity and a big shop, it would be cool but i don't think it's something a hobby shop could get away with due to the EPA and state and town laws

aluminum can be powder coated .Many different materials can be some have to be preheated first. I will post more info once I get set up and have done some practice pieces and learn more about it. I will be limited to what will fit in a conventional oven.
