Ok.. probably do the pan a little different cause that one is kind of low , pretty sure it would be touching the ground if it was on my car. I only have a 1/2 in clearance so the plate will be taking clearance away.

Where I cracked it is the scrapped section right over the oil drain . That is the lowest spot on the pan and is on the back when on the car.

I wish I knew how to shorten the oil pick up tube cause.then we could cut a inch out of the pan .

Why aren't you raising the engine instead? Seems to make a lot more sense

Justins idea is perfect. Why not just put a 1/2" spacer under your motor mounts? I highly doubt it will affect anything.

Never thought about it, only other thing I have seen is shrinking the pan like I said. I'll ask my buddy if he has heard of anyone doing that.

Edit: That only helps with the pan, my control arms are the same high as the pan. So I won't get any clearance just safer for the pan. So skid plate will do the same .

Not exactly the same... You will still lose clearance if you add a plate without raising the engine. Maybe the best solution is to do both. That would give you a reinforced pan without changing ground clearance (much).

Do you have any problems with the control arms scraping? I don't really see what they have to do with anything if your only concerns are for the pan.

i think raising the engine is a ggood idea and plate the oil pan, call it a day and have fun

                        Umm.. I know?

I was just stating that even if I raise the motor I won't GAIN any clearance because the control arms are still only a half inch off the ground . Justin said raise it " instead " not also so I was responding to that. I could raise the motor and put the plate and not loose any but I won't gain any. But that seems like a good idea.

Do I hit my control arms? Yea.. lol. They are shaved down quite a bit, they protect the pan. I have only hit the pan a couple times.

haha i was just thinking... wouldn't a bigger tire solve this very easily? go a size up, gain a half inch (just like adding spacers, only your control arms will be higher, too.) and add the plate if you want.

a size up on the tires won't effect the looks too much.. i mean how low is too low? your car will STILL be slammed, only safer to drive and less worrying going over bumps. i guarantee you wouldn't be able to tell the difference from 10 feet away if you went a size up...
