Looking around at options for summer wheels for the forester. Haven't gotten to measure anything yet but thinking 18 or 19s. Not sure on offsets but I want to bring the wheel out to the fender. When you have a chance could I get some estimates on a couple of these wheels. Thanks, take your time no rush.

Ok bud I did some checking on the XXR's that you were interested in. Unfortunately at the moment the 521 is only made in 5x100 with a standard high offset (38mm and 40mm) in the 17x7, and 18x8.5. Without some fender rolling I think it would be difficult to fit an 8.5 width wheel on the Forester in that offset. The 18x9.5 and 19x9.5 is not made in 5x100 for either wheel style currently.

The 522 offers better fitment options for the Forester. That wheel is available in 17x8, and 18x8.5 with a 5x100bp and a +48mm offset which is perfect for our cars. My old 518's were 18x8.5 +48mm's and the wheels sat flush with the fender. I rolled mine to accommodate the wide 245/35R18 tire. Here's a pic of my Subie taken at the spring cruise with the wheel on to give you an idea of the fit.

Subies typically have a high + offset (+48 or greater), so you'll have to make some room under there to accommodate the tire to avoid a super annoying rubbing issue.

The exception being the STi's, the 05+ model years have a 5x114.3 bolt pattern, and they can run high plus's and have run some mid offset wheels with the appropriate fender modifications.

You could by CivicSi's 17" Gold 522's when he upgrades to 18's, and throw on some new sticky rubber like the Falken RT-615K's. . .

            Just a thought!

Thanks for looking into that for me Gene!

Hmmm... figures , I think I liked the 521 the best. Black with gold bolts I think may have worked well.

              Anything on the 962?

17's are to small for a forester other wise I would think about it.

In the 962 they are only building the 5x100 in 17x7 and 18x7.5 with standard high offset. They have some new styles that we are just hearing about, I will check into those on monday and PM you the info. Nothing on those new styles is in country yet, but that may have something similar to the 521 that will work on the Forester.

Gene, I bought the 522's in 17 x 8 last year from you. If upgraded to the 18 x 8.5 come spring/summer in Chromium Black or Gold. I was thinking 245-35-18 as they seem to have the best option for tires size and one if the closest matches for tire using the same rolling diameter. On the 06 wrx is there alot of rolling of the fenders that you expect? I'd like to have the correct size tires on the wheels as I'm not a fan of the smaller stretched tire look. Let me know what you think and PM a price of what they would run me from you? Thanks

Thanks for the help for sure. What did you get for stock tire width on the forester? 04 XT I'm having a hard time finding it, I got stock offset at +48 but no width. I guessing 7 or 7.5 ??

If its 7 x +48 and I do 8.5 with a +40 it will be 27mm closer to the fender and 11 to the strut . Not sure about the strut side but I think I can get that with a stretch and roll

Nah.. lol I need to go do some measuring for sure , working right now can't go out to the car.

I need to measure the distance from my fender to the stock wheel to figure out what I need to get the look I want.

see i found the other site to be a little better as they kind of give you and idea of what will still be ok with suspension setups just remember once your lower that can change the specs too.
