if you need help getting that things boosted lmk... I might know a thing or two about turbocharging an na car... lol for now if it isnt boosted loose the fmic its just silly without a turbo...if you have all the parts you can have it running in about 6 hours or so... maybe less if you have done it before. MAKE SURE YOU BUY GOOD GASKETS FOR THE MANIFOLD AND TURBO (OEM not the crap with the little holes)!!! YOU WILL BE REPLACING THEM IN A WEEK IF THEY ARE CHEAPO's ALSO ADD COPPER GASKET STUFF TO THE GASKETS IT WILL HELP FROM BLOWING THEM OUT! CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!!

dude check my post it said test fitted, it is off lol.
figured you left it on like most people do... lol I saw this one kid driving around with the end tanks open getting full of poo all winter.
Nah I won't be really pushing boost till next year, I just wanted to see how much room I had for to do my piping and fit both my oil & tranny cooler. Looks like I've got plenty of room there but I'm going to have to turn my battery 90 degrees.

trunk mounted battery ftw... If you are only running low boost why not just run a sidemount... the front mount is going to kill spool time and actually may make you loose power when you are using a smaller turbo.

As in I won't start boosting till next year, I'm planning on running about 14-15psi. Which on the turbo I have sitting at home should be able to push about 640 cfm.

What? There's no difference between a front mount and a side mount except that the side mount won't get as much air. The extra lag induced (which will be next to nothing) by filling a FMIC that size vs a dinky heat soaked SMIC would be off set by the lower charge temps and room for growth that a good quality FMIC will give.

Ok... Sure... Except when it comes to lag. A fmic normally has longer pipes and a sidemount will normally have a shorter distance for the air to travel. A good smic (like a supra tt one wont get heat soaked) Side mounts dont get heatsoaked if installed right. My friend had one on his sr20det making 339whp on a t28 @22psi and it never got heat soaked... this was in florida... and it was a track car used in NOPI drift events.

Okay you two can argue about lag all you want, because to be frank, I'm not worried about lag as much, I'm purely doing this as a project/learning experience/dyno queen, especially since my car is an automatic and the only torque converter that has been able to be made to work with my tranny was made for the first gen eclipse and is out of production, so pretty it'll be a dyno queen. If I was to start tracking this thing and trying to push over 300hp 24/7 I'd be replacing TQ's all day. Atleast i don't have to worry about breaking gears and sync rings like the 5 speed guys >.>

Also guys this is a 22x7.5x2,5" core this is smaller then what most guys use when boosting with the TD05 20G
once you finish that do manual swap. Def grab a beater... Lol mine always turns into a project tho.
Um, no go on the 5 speed, to be honest it's just going to be a real PITA, and then I'll be replacing trannys after every 5 runs, I'd rather replace torque converters, not to mention the poor gear ratios the 5 speeds have since the gearing is built for an N/A engine, not boosted.
