They have dyno charts posted that confirm 20+psi of boost, its definitely capable. The smaller turbo they provide with the setup is still capable of making decent power and would spool quicker, but I believe the widely used GT28RS "disco potato" (ask the DSM guys ) will also fit with this manifold.

I think the only problem you may run into with the tuning is if you have him tune with the smaller turbo first and then try to ask him to retune with the larger one--your best bet may be to get the larger one right off the bat. Also the Stage 2 setup comes with a FMIC that is plenty large and functional to cool 350+ whp, I believe that's what they used on their 384whp focus. If you go to focussport.com they have some dyno videos and racing clips with the car, it's pretty amazing.

Additionally, on focaljet if you PM FocusSportVP and let him know what you have and what you'd like to do he can help you out. That's Randy Robles, VP and head of the tuning department at FocusSport. Vik is the lead tech for mechanical questions, and Raffi is another one of the higher ups there. If you ask for any of them when/if you call you'll get your answers for sure.

I had planned on getting the larger one right off the bat. Wish they would work out something with me where I buy the kit WITHOUT the turbo...I'll have to ask

It's doubtful but would save me the hassle of having to try to sell it after.

Thanks for the info, I'll PM randy tomorrow night most likely.

Yeah its pretty awesome let me tell you. I drive really pretty normally most of the time but just knowing you can beat pretty much anyone you're driving around is kick ass lol. You might look in the for sale forums on FJ and FF if you are looking for the turbo kit or partials, unless focussport had some sort of issue where they damaged a turbo that was assigned to a kit chances are you won't be able to purchase the kit minus the turbo. Either way good luck, you're looking at 10 grand between the turbo kit, tuning, engine build, and transmission/suspension stuff AT LEAST, and thats just in parts. Trust me, I've been there...spending 20 grand on a car you haven't even finished paying 8 on sucks. lol

Oh, I know full well how much I'll be spending. I'm hoping to go not much over 10 as far as that stuff is concerned...then prob next year I'll look into body + cosmetics, such as bumpers + skirts, and paint.

if I can push 350-400 horse for 10 grand I'll be a very happy camper

My ol SVTF JRSC was pretty damn quick though!

And imo for your bodystyle, I forsee the SAP kit in your future...I personally think it's an awesome looking factory kit with the unfortunate drawback being the car it came doesnt have the balls stock to back up its aggresive look...

Mmmm I love the SAP front, but I'm not sure yet. For the rear, I'd love to do an SVT rear with center exhaust...If I can figure out how to get the exhaust there on a normal ZX3...theres a LOT of stuff in the way.

But we'll see. My car's stock look is going to surprise the F*CK out of everyone when they hear that turbo spool up. They'll prob think I have a squeaky belt or something...

As far as I know you can do the SVT rear bumper on an 05 (if not that, than a Roush) with the borla center exhaust. The SVT and zx3 rear suspension are set up the same, as far as I know, so the fitment shouldn't be an issue unless the gas tank design is significantly different. You'll figure it out.

The gas tank design IS significantly different

But when I do my fuel system work I may do a little work to the fuel tank itself...whether putting in a new one, or what I'm not sur eyet.

I just know that my fuel tank goes almost to the bumper, not leaving much room for an exhaust

Well let me put it this way--although it may not be impossible to make 400whp or so with the returnless fuel system, most have had the best success with a return system. You can do this with a stock tank I believe, but a majority of people that do that also get a fuel cell and just put it in the trunk.

Yeah, I'd much rather KNOW I've got fuel than have to worry about it starving at high rpms. There a couple threads on FF about return style, and I'm sure theres some on FJ too.

well the starving issue can be remedied with the boost a pump from kenne bell--over 5psi boost it automatically ramps up the voltage going to the pump so it stabilizes pressure drop. The stock pump can only support so much with the BAP though.
