how did you blow 3rd?`PPGs might be overkill.

3rd gear pull. 75% throttle, checking boost levels after some re-plumbing/replacing of old vacuum lines. 18lbs max when it went. There is no overkill when you need to replace everything and do not have the $ to do it a second time around...

Watching vids they do seem loud but for the money seems like the best bet for him. I can't wait to hear them.... I don't care how loud they are outside the car, mainly inside the car.

LOL vids do no justice. THEY ARE LOUD. 3rd grar just went on the streets>? he just didnt softly shift into 3rd while going 35. Your talking to someone who has seen/done hundereds of wrx trannys rebuilt from abuse.

I pulled out of the street, did second gear full throttle pull, shifting in to 3rd very slowly bc I got flashed for keeping my high beams on by the on-coming car, I literally coasted in 3rd gear for 5-10 seconds before I hit the throttle after the car passed me. Thats when it went. EVOeater was with me and can confirm this. It was a complete granny shift, literally the easiest shift you could make in to that gear.

LOL all the vids I been listening to are not near that loud in any of the wrx's on the street inside or out. That's a freaking straight race car with no interior, no sound insulation or anything. I'm not saying that they don't wine but it's not going to be anywhere that DB level in a steet car with the PPG staright cut.

get the helical cut gears and get the tranny faceplated. no whine and minor clunking when changing gears, no big deal. If you drive the car a lot i wouldn't get the straight cut gears.

Yeah I'm pretty sure his mind is made up for the price that's he's paying for it. It's the best protection for the dollar for his rebuild that he's been able to find so far.

i dont know about a wrx application, but th mmr tko 600 claims to hold 900hp. i will let you know if my tranny holds up with the new motor.

Yeah I'm guessing a fair amount less. The straight cut PPG's are rated at 450whp I believe.
