What mods are illegal in NH?

Damn, i'm missing 4 of them on my 89. That would suck to get caught and have to go to the state police inspection center.

Yeah, thats my point. It's worth it for me to just throw in ONE cat so #1 it's quieter and I don't get pulled over to begin with, and #2 because if I can show them a catalytic converter they are much less likely to ticket me/send me through a state police inspection center. If they do, I'm going to get nabbed for a lot more than the exhaust.

Cop is just trying to scare you... he was probably having a bad day.

I got pulled for Reckless Op in the M3, Cop said I was getting fined 250 per axle for being to low, 35 bucks per sticker on the windows, I think he said my tint was to dark. Arrested me, impounded my car.

30 bucks to get out of Jail
150 to get my car
what ever the Rec op fine was and that was it... the rest was just BS

I had a cop in Nashua try to say something about being to low, I told him is wasn't, He said it was. I asked him if he had a tape measure and he didn't... then you can't prove it's to low. Most cops don't realize that the bumper cover is not the bumper, so if they want to check it You have to take the bumper cover off.... They don't care that much un less your being a real Douche to them.

I have been pulled over for all sorts of things.


Never for modification. and ALL of my cars have been modified.

I even had a cop ask me if I get a lot of #!#!#!#! for my exhaust on my S4, because he wanted to get an exhaust for his truck. I have no Cats, it consistently shoots flames, and is somewhat loud (one muffler, one small res on each pipe, its a true dual) haha.

both were pulled over on Rt 101 near epping.

and another one of my friends car was towed for having a body kit, but that was in methuen ma.

its seems to just being what your doing when you get pulled over, and who pulls you over.

For me, it seems that if you are polite, and at least somewhat honest, the cops will be nice to you.

technically any modification of you suspension is illegal, having no cats is super illegal, tho we all do it.

^Maine allows you to raise and lower the vehicle up to certain amounts, I'd assume NH is the same...???

NH has a legal bumper height, BUUUUTTTT....it also says NO altercation of you suspension, is about the inpector, if you have a 10 inch lift with 44s you probly will get #!#!#!#! and not get a sticker, if you have a 6 inch lift with 35s you (more then likly) are still illegal but will probly get a sticker, and get pulled over only if you are being a tool(doing burnouts and #!#!#!#!)

Huh, that sucks. I just read the Maine inspection laws throughout (trying to get the turbo car inspected.. hah) and they are actually pretty lax.

none of my cars are legal, evo has a sticker tho, my truck has no sticker, but is fully lettered with maine auto. i dont get 2 looks with truck, but the evo every time cops show up at a parking lot we are at , they ask 20 questions

Wait till you run into a DOT state trooper. they have the tape measures, tint meter, dp meter....everything. Ive had a trooper pull me over in the jeep and go through the whole thing, he made a list of measurements, dp's at 2000rpm, how far the tires stick out etc etc. I was there on the side of the road for 45min. He asked me "what mod do you want a ticket for?" I said i dont know, whatever is cheapest.. He went back to his car for like 10min came back and said "looks like your just having fun, be safe" WTF are you kidding me all that for nothing??! I was pissed but at the same time relived.

im only gonna have to worry about my exhaust being too loud. i got some friend who would pass me even with my coilovers but he cant overlook the DP..

but im sure it will stilll be months till i can have the car back anyway

Ive never had a problem with inspection. Lowered, exhaust and such. My 2.2L cobalt i turbocharged, hada 3" turboback and i passed with flying colors. Just keep the exhaust noise down and dont have a CEL and you will be fine.
