Mods are legal, as long as the exhaust is under 95db and the lower edge of the bumper beam is a minimum of 16" off the ground its all good. Dunno where this OEM only stuff is coming from.

that information is outdated and irrelevant.

the exhaust must be of the same specification originally equipt. no fart cans and no borla, flowmaster or anything else without baffles.

and the bumper thing is not true...ever see a porsche with a bumper beam more than 12" off the gorund? how about a ferarri? didn't think so

The exhuast thing is crap.... No modified exhausts at all.... I had a thermal on my 96 prelude with paperwork stating it's legal and meets the decible law.... No fart can like either, nice tasteful sound, 2tips... Got harassed constantly, and then wouldve been screwed once the obd2 law went into effect.. I have an AC Schnitzer in my 95 M3 that also has a BMW stamp on it, so that's how I get away with the exhaust... Plus I don't drive like a ass anymore so no cop notices me....
As for lowering... Delsol bumper bars oem are at like 12 or 14 inches... Stock lower than law... M3 before the drop lower than 16 inches.... So just don't make it dumb low, or at least do coils.
The lesson to be learned here.... Buy OBD1... you can get away with almost anything... Also either way, become friends with someone who inspects cars! Show some boob if you must, doesn't have to be yours.

I moved to NH 8 years ago from MA. Ive had modded cars ever since I moved up here. Ive been taking to the same place in Wilton for those 8 years for Inspection. I failed once because my tires were bald. I have been pulled over probably 6 times for various things and Ticked once for speeding. There was never any mention of modification. Bottom line is I think you will be ok barring any kind of outrageous mods haha.

The most notable thing when moving to NH from MA, is peel the tint off your driver and passanger front side windows. It's the one thing that even a "friend" will fail you for because its THAT obvious. Everything else you can get away with.
