On a stock turbo, no. But if it's an aftermarket turbo (which presumably would be larger), wouldn't hurt to have a faster spool.
Plus, sounding like a lawnmower is cool. It's like +20hp just for the sound.

every ELH WRX/STI I have personally heard in person sounds like complete ass. Would never put it on my car. I don't care what the gains are...

That said I did hear a Perrin ELH on youtube that was pretty decent. I believe this is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrLasJvUwZE

yup any non highend headers for sti's have a bad history of going south. in generall for subies especially with sti's either stick with oem or get a nice quality part. only parts that are cheap that still work well are fmic and exhausts

The welds are cracking because the person who welded it did a #!#!#!#!ty job in the preperation stage most likely, what material is it made out of? if stainless, what grade? If you want i can repair it for you, i can't garauntee it wont crack but i will do what i would to my own product to prevent cracks, it could be that they let off too quick at the end of the weld and the weld cracked from cooling to quickly. Let me know, send me a PM if you are interested, shouldn't be more than a day turn around wise.
