    STi problem...

    so my STi has had some problems with breaking parts for a while... mainly the aftermarket header... and i'm startin to get tired of it... it keeps cracking at the weld bead points. can you guys help me narrow this problem down? i think it's my motor mounts...
    and if anyone has either the stock or aftermarket manifold and or mounts i could either buy or snag... that'd be cool too.

      From what I've researched (and I can't believe I'm admitting to looking into header pipes for my rex, equal length at that), a lot of the aftermarket header setups break on the rex's. The general opinion is that nothing beats the OEM in terms of reliability. What brand is it?

          I know nothing about STI's but I'd look at motor mounts.
          You ain't got no chance to beat it..like a man with no hands and a one inccchhhh .

              that's the thing... i have no clue what they are... there's nothing branded on it, the kid before me slapped it on and knows nothing about anything. i think OEM is the best route to go down

                  If I had to venture a guess, I would say it sounds like an eBay special.
                  I would have to agree, go for an OEM and play it safe.

                      ^^^ agree 100% with the ebay headers. Evos have the same problem with the ebay turbo headers. they always crack around the welds. see if dan (sti) has his stockers and if he wants to sell them then port them before you put them on

                          i ran ebay specials for 3 years no problems.

                          Does your header have a flex pipe, or is it a 1 piece up and header?

                                  Go back to OEM and enjoy. The horrible sound of the ELH is not worth the small gains on stock turbo....
