No disrespect because I dont know you, but please dont ever say you served your country. You have to complete bootcamp 1st to consider yourself a Marine, now understand your health and thats cool, but it is a HUGE DISRESPECT to those that gave there all. I served in Iraq with great Marines. I myself am one of the few Active Duty stationed here in NH with over 9 years and counting and I tell you It is disrespectful to claim to have served your country. You know nothing about that. Good luck if you do decide to go back to the Corps, it is only for those few that can commit for a life time. Don't get me wrong I give you props for trying what most wont dare, but its not serving your country, that has a whole different meaning all together.

Wow hold up Marine, first things first here, Theres many ways to serve your country and that doesn't mean to go to war. Now I thank you for doing that, and we all do. But you can serve your country many other ways, many people can't go to bootcamp and can't even join the Marines. I put up my hand and took that oath, I did what many others in this country can't or don't want to do. I did it so they don't have to, is that not serving in that way? Now don't get me wrong I didn't go to war liek yourself and your service is much more valiant than what I did, but I gave my country service for what I was trying to do, and what many others can't do. So don't go off and disrespect me and try to take away what I tried to do. I also went to go renlist today. Your right you don't know me because obviously you would know I've wanted to do this my entire life, and im not just joining for the ride, I beleive in this country and serving ask any one of these guys on here.Nick Fiorentino

first off i want to say thank you for your service to the country and for doing it for the long haul.
but i think you are taking it a tad seriously. he completed boot camp (or atleast attempted to) before be told to leave. he didnt puss out and say im sick send me home. he went there assuming he had it but had to wait for the results. he went there and busted his ass and stayed busting his ass the whole time he was there until they told him to go home. marine bootcamp is hard enough, but imagine doing it with mono? i consider myself to be a person who can persavere through a lot, but im not sure id be able to do what he did. now, if that isnt what being a marine is all about, then i dont know what it is. maybe he shouldnt say he "served his country", but he damn well tried harder than many others to be able to do that. and that, i would think, entitles him to call himself a Marine.Current car: 07 STi 331whp 376wtq

welcome back bud. call of duty asap SpoolinEJ (add me) and thanks for making the journey I have thought about it myself and never wanted to give up what i had here (selfish yes, but it happens). Very good friend of mine went to the corp and told me a lot of stories just about boot camp and how much hell it is. I give you props for even attempting that and more for being Honorably Discharge. That doenst mean you failed in anyway. You have my respect man and you finished boot camp so to me that makes you a marine. A lot of people go to boot camp and dont necessarily get sent over seas all the time. So good for you bro. see you at sulls.Originally posted by gtmustang00A 350fwhp civic will screw for sure and costs way less. I hate to say it on a forum like this cuz ill get #!#!#!#!, but my next build will be a extremely clean 2 door civic.Comment

Listen I think you all have been taking this the entirely wrong way. as to your last sentence ""but he damn well tried harder than many others to be able to do that. and that, i would think, entitles him to call himself a Marine."" Your not a Marine until you fully complete Bootcamp and that only earns you the title Marine. I'm not knockin the fact that you put your hand up, and thats cool, but as I said before you can only be called a marine after meeting all requirements. I do WISH we had more people like you to got willingly and swear in to go and try to serve for there country, but unfortunately there are not many willing to do that, and for you to go ahead and do that, I am grateful. Maybe more will be willing to try, but only a few can succeed, as you saw for yourself bootcamp is no joke, this is not the ARMY, we make men who fight and ask no questions, but kick ass and take names. I hope you do try and join again 98 AWD DSM, the Marine Corps could use motivated individuals as yourself. And if I offended you with what I said earlier, hope it can be put behind. You did try and me nor anyone can take that from you.

what the hell is this supposed to mean? are you saying the Army doesn't make men (and women) who fight and ask no questions??? i must have missed that in boot camp. i'm in the Army and i never disrespected any of the other branches of armed services. i give anyone that raises their hand to serve their country the respect they deserve, regardless of what branch they joined.Joe B.
