Had a good time today. good to talk to and meet everyone. Sorry for the loudness of the mustang, i do however enjoy it that loud for some odd reason. Slightly disappointed in my numbers. if i had a pull or 2 more the car would have been over 300/320. glad to see no one broke anything.

I'll post up the dynograph when I get it from Jason, but in the meantime, here is a video about the Ea Nanofiber technology for you to check out!

Is your car custom tuned? Or is a can tune for the full exhaust?

I put 287 on that dyno 2 months ago, but have stock exhuast.

Do you people know how a dyno works? Don't be disappointed with your numbers, a dyno is a comparisson tool, not neccessarily a measuring device as accurate as say, a ruler.... So my point... dont be dis-appointed with your base run, be disappointend if after your mods, the numbers dont increase. lol

its a tune from bamachips for the mods i have. i have no cats or mufflers so the lack of back pressure probably doesnt help my numbers at all. car was making more power with each pull but obviously had to stop at 3.

Well, NA you don't really want any backpressure, you want exhaust velocity. I'm not saying bigger is better either, because it's not. I'm not sure of exactly how the math works, but as your headers heat up, they do aid somewhat in scavenging the exhaust.

if you don't have any back pressure, your low end power will suffer, idealy you want an exhaust system to be 180 degrees, the 4 into to into 1 or try Y's are good examples. so that as one exhaust pulse is going out, and the next exhaust valve is just about to close and valve overlap occurs that pulse from the opposing cylinder creates a negitive pressure pulse in the tube drawing the intake charge in and scavaging the exhaust, increasing it's efficiency, the heat in the exhaust helps to increase it's velocity hence why people wrap the exhaust. no back pressure is ideal only in high rpm applications where low end torque isn't as critical. as for turbo, back pressure and heat are ideal since higher heat means higher exhaust speeds spooling the turbo much quicker and zero back pressure past the turbine is ideal so the turbo will spool much faster, that's why changing the down pipe and openning up the exhaust can creat larger power gains.

                        What were your final numbers?

Mine as well makes slightly more hp each run. I "gained" 4 whp by comparing the first run, to my fifth.

However, I would suggest calling Pete and ask about a custom tune. I am sure he could see 3-7whp gain over your canned tune. Should be much over 125 if you already have the SCT and eveything

pete has tried tuning my car before with no gain in power over my canned tune. And he also stated yesterday that my mod/number combo seemed right on from the s197s he has tuned

Yeah, that ****ing mustang. You were just trying to give me a heartattack....I jumped about a foot the first time Pete said go and you romped on it. Sounds excellent outdoors though, we heard you driving away even with the door closed

And, Mike, how the hell'd you get that focus to be a torque monster? Everyone always gets hp and no torque...and you managed to get the opposite

What're you running for a turbo?

mike and i had stopped partway up the hill leaving and it took me a bit of throttle and steering to keep going....then i cleaned the tires off in the street. mikes car amazes me every time he does something new to it. such a reliable and fast car...cant beat 32mpg's either.
