    Description:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

Car info: 1989 Supra, 7mgte, Automatic, Red exterior, Gray Cloth interior

    Detailed Information:
I bought this Supra in 2007 from the second owner in South Carolina with 90k miles. Even though she was rust-free, she came with a lot of issues. Based on a ton of research and a lot of advising, I came up with a five year plan to build my dream summer-daily driver; a MA70 SUPRA with enough power to make her respected on the road, but also built to last.

Fast forward five years; now I’ve nearly completed my build. Every part, hose, belt, line, sensor, etc. etc. is either upgraded or brand new. Every modification was picked with the intention of only reaching 500+rwhp. The motor and tranny were actually built to hold nearly twice that much power, with the hope that it will last a very long time (ideally forever). Now I'm gowing through cycles of indifference to the car which may be an indication to move on.

I've invested over $30,000 into this car, and have documentation for all work and parts (neatly organized in a 3 ring binder). This car has never seen snow or salt in it's life. It has not yet been dragged or raced. Mainly because I am super anal, I've had the compression checked on this car yearly, and as of last month, it was strong across the board with no issues.

    The bad:
Being picky and as honest as I can be, here is what you'll see if you saw it in person: The exterior was repainted over a decade ago, and some of the paint is starting to peel around the trim. I've touched it up, and it seems to be holding it down well. You can't tell unless your about a foot away from the car and looking for it. The body has accumulated dings and minor dents due to daily driving from the previous owner. The black plastic part of window trim at the top of the hatch on the outside has broken off, and is now just aluminum; ironically it almost looks like it's suppose to be there. The drivers side seat along the seam where the seatbelt crosses was torn, and I resewed it (not really professional looking). There is a small dime size crack in the dash; other than these things, the interior is immaculate.

Overall I'd give this car (and I'm picky):
    Exterior 7.5/10
    Interior 8.5/10
    Drivetrain 10/10
    Fun Factor 10/10

My plans were to install a PTE 6466 TBB turbo with manifold next year and go for over 500rwhp on pump, but I'm losing energy.

Whether you want one heckuva daily driver or if you want to start dragging competitively this could be the car for you.

Updated. Am open to trades with a car of equal value or car + cash. I've had a few interests, and only one serious person who fell of the face of the earth this week because he's a pilot I guess.

                    Bump:

I want to stress that this is one of the few Supras you will find that is 99 percent brand new mechanically. We're talking hoses, connectors, lines, sensors, belts, wiring harness, too many things to list. Receipts in hand for everything; neatly organized in a binder. With a reappolstered drivers seat and/or racing seats, and a paint job (current paint isn't even that bad), this car is worth close to 20k on the market. You won't lose money on this purchase; probably ever...

If one were considering this as a vehicle for one's wife..... Hypothetically, how would one find an accurate value to inquire about financing? NADA shows a high value of just under 10k....

One could get an appraisal at Paul's Executive Auto, which holds up under a special interest loan. Bank value sometimes comes in higher than NADA depending on the bank...

Personal loans, equity loans, cash match loans, can also supplement a car loan.

Let me know how I can help.

Personal loan would be easy, but I know most credit unions will accept an auto loan if you just have something that says the value of the vehicle.

I find that credit unions are the most flexible and offer the best fixed rates.
