    1982 Yamaha XJ750 Maxim (custom)

    Vehicles for SALE
    Name: Andy

Selling: 1982 Yamaha XJ750 Maxim (custom)

    Price: $700

    Location (City, State): Hudson, NH

Means of Contact: PM me on here

Description: I'm listing my bike here first. Its a 1982 Yamaha XJ750 that I've owned for the past 10 years. It has always been reliable for me and naver has a problem starting. The engine, frame, and a bunch of misc parts were custom powder coated about 5 or 6 years ago. She's got some small chips and dings in the powder but looks really good from about 5 feet when clean. The seat has 2 large tears in it and can be re-covered for about $80. The stock airbox and exhaust were traded for pod filters and some Jardine slip ons. Together they sound pretty mean. I ditched the old square gauges and headlight for round ones with custom gauge faces. She's got 30k miles now and only 10k of them were put on since I've owned it. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Motorcycle season is upon us. I still have this thing, and still don't want it anymore. It's been sitting under a bike cover for 2 years now, I'm sure the battery is dead. I'd bet just about anything that after charging it, it'll start right up. I'm relisting it online for $700, first member with $500 and a trailer can have it.

Girlfriend said yes. Gonna give myself a couple of days to make sure this is not an impulse buy (even though it is). As long as it fires up and drives without problems i dont see why not

I do still have it. The battery is totally shot. I did attempt starting it using a charger with a start feature and found the floats sticking and gas leaking out the carbs. I pulled the carbs off and cleaned them. Got them back on and tried again. No more leak but now the starter/starter clutch is making some noise. I think the oil got thinned out by the leaky carbs and it's affecting the starter clutch operation. These starter clutches are sensitive to oil viscosity. I had it happen to me once in the past, and fresh oil seemed to take care of it. I'm pretty done playing with it though. Really just want it gone.

                      Make me an offer.

I'll get you 50% off a Sig lol. Pay week is next week. If you still have it then I'll probably take it off your hands. So it can sit in my yard for a year.
