Did you read my entire ad? I state in "The Bad" that it was totaled in 2003. And state that due to rebuilt title I will allow test drives, but only to SERIOUS buyers.

Love this car. How does it pass inspection being it can't be plugged in?

In Maine they don't plug in if there are no check engine lights. It can be plugged in, but it displays "unable to connect".

I guess in Maine you can just disconnect the light-bulb and pass every single OBD inspection?

In MA, they plug in everytime, and if it doesn't pass the computer test, it fails automatically.

Maine only plugs in if the light is on. I've never disconnected the bulb, it did just come on today for an Evap code though.

That's cool, that Maine does that . Unfortunately almost anywhere else this is a Track only car for that reason. If you have the OBDII stuff and you really want to sell , I'd think about swapping it back. $8k is a lot of money for a car you can't drive on the street.

What Jkim is saying that if Maine only makes you plug in if the.check engine light is on, then it must be petty easy to get modified cars to pass inspection cause all you would need to do is remove.the.check engine light so it wouldn't be on. Then you wouldnt have.to plug it in. Although you wouldn't even need to do that, you could just clear the codes when you pulled in the lot .

I wish NH was like that.

You can plug it in, it will just say "unable to connect". Qtips, the benefits of OBD1 is no more emissions equipment at all. Generally it is done when converting a car to be run in the IP class. It's also a lot easier to get different tunes, because you don't have to upload anything, it's as simple as swaping out a chip. 8K is my base asking price, I am open to offers of course (especially due to the rebuilt title I realize not everyone will value the car the same as I do). If everything fails, I have a friend down in NC that has a built motor turbo miata with 12k on the rebuild running 15psi on a T04 from a WRX with MS3. If his car doesn't sell this weekend to the guy who is going to look at it, I may do a straight trade.

When I said plug it in I wasn't just meaning plug it in. I mean you have to scan the car and pass to get a sticker. "Unable to.connect" is a fail which means you can not get a sticker , in NH or Mass and many other states . So to us this is a track only car .

I'm not saying anything's wrong with the price, the car is worth whatever anyone is willing to pay for it. It's a nice looking car with some nice mods , unfortunately that salvage title and not being able to inspect it , really hurt the value . Or at least limit where you will find interested buyer's, I don't know what other states it would pass inspection.... Florida? They don't even have.inspections or something.

Good luck with the guy coming to check it out this weekend , hope he likes it. If it doesn't work out that miata sounds pretty sweet though.
