    Spark Plugs on a Subaru

Well today driving into work the old tired Forester started misfiring. Still drivable since I made it to work but no idea for how much longer. My first assumption is the plugs are gone, since they've done their job for 2 years and 30k+ miles. Been looking up videos on doing it, but would love to hear first hand encounters about the first time. I'll have access to a lift, if it makes any difference.

First time will probably take you an hr just because things need to be done in just a way.that they fitout.
Coils only fit out one way between the valve cover and the frame. Tolls don't fit well because of the frame. So your fingers get tired because that's all you can use and you hand is in okward positions.

The way I.do it now is with the spark plug socket and 2 three.inch extentions. Find a shorter socket if you can . Because I used my brother's socket once and it was a couple CM's bigger and messed it all up.

But if its short enough you can fit the socket and the extention between the motor/frame and in the plug hole then insert the 2nd 3inch extention and then your ratchet. Loosen the plug and then remove the ratchet. If you don't it just gets pitched against the frame. Unscrew it.with your hand and both extentions untill its out. Then separate the 2 extentions , if your lucky you can.remove it with the socket /extention and plug . If not you have.to remove them one by one. You have to do that for each one , not all of them are as tight . If I remember right one side is easier.then the.other .

Although this is all for the 2.5 DOHC . The impreza guys think there's are hard to do but the Forester motor sits at least 2 inches lower between the frame rails then a impreza. I was having a misfire issue and stole my buddies coil and was like.. WTF , that was so easy..lol
You ain't got no chance to beat it..like a man with no hands and a one inccchhhh .
