    Rare finds thread

Figured just create a new thread for this stuff. Post any pics or articles you come up with cool finds whether they are newer or antiques.

Post from the other day about the rare barn finds and one about the rare cars in the Petersen Museum basement, both have good pictures and notes.

Could there be anything better than uncovering a priceless classic sitting lost in your garage? Jalopnik readers know the ten greatest barn find fantasies ever made real.

I'd been in the Petersen Automotive Museum's basement once before, many years ago, illegally, and thanks to an old Volvo P1800 key that magically fit in an elevator. But that was in the dark, and avoiding the gaze of a security guard. So when I got the chance to get a real tour of the vault, I was pretty excited, especially after they confirmed it would be with the lights on, and the security guard would leave me alone, as long as I, you know, kept my pants on and didn't act like too much of a l

reading through that Petersen part is neat, most particularly that 1927 Soriano-Pedroso. It had a supercharged straight 8 and variable valve timing that was controlled from the dash, thats crazy. i think there will be two more parts with more picturs coming, cool stuff.

That isn't my car just find. My friends dad ended up buying the house, didn't get the cars with it. They just controlled burnt the house today as a matter of fact.

thought this was interesting never knew they made them

Alejandro deTomaso was like a graffiti artist, always willing to append his name to damn-near any automotive enterprise. Today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe Dodge 024 may be one of the Argentinian’s lesser scribbles, but does its price make it worth signing on the dotted line?
