it was on my house list too, everyone always says you can build one later. kinda hard to swing 50k plus for a garage when you're making a mortgage payment

I'm in the same boat. Primarily looking for a place with a garage, but prices without are nice. It would likely be 10 years before I could swing the price tag on building a garage while paying a mortgage.

This. Ideally id like to be able to have space around the car and a pad so I install a maxjack lift. Most garages I have seen are barely big enough to hold a small car and while I would love to build something the cost makes things difficult.

I had a quote to build a 28x42 attached garage with 14' ceilings, and a full bonus room (man cave) above. Between the site work, the mud room to attach it to the house, and the finish work needed to make an attached garage look correct from the outside - we were just over 100k without a fully finished interior.

Decided if I was going to spend that kind of coin on a shop, it was going to be on a piece of property where I wasn't restricted to a 28x42 building.
                        Stock is boring.
