I had heard that.the new Quattro concept had been squashed but apparently last month they unveiled a new concept. I don't like it anywhere near as much as the original concept though.

Exterior i like. But the interior just doesn't feel audi. Especially the steering wheel.

The whole problem I see with trying to bring back the A1 is the fact that outside of rally dominance, it already fills roles taken up by several other body styles. It would to be a replacement for itself, need to be smaller than an A4 (which would put it next to the A3, and hurt each others sales), or be big enough to be a 2dr that's A4 sized (which would compete against the A5/S5/RS5). If they want to bring the A1 back to something other than a niche group car that won't see decent numbers then need to address this.


What Audi needs to do is build up a 2.0T RS3 for WRC and enter it under a factory team and tell ford and thier fake fiesta to suck it.

The 2.0T is in the S3 not the RS3, the 2.5TFSI is in the RS3. We are getting the MQB platform S3 sedan and might be getting the RS3.

except WRC limits engine size to 2.0 litres for competition hence I mentioned putting it in s RS3

But its the same as a S3 then, the RS3 has some other cosmetic stuff but is essentially a S3 with a extra cylinder.

Also WRC is at 1.6L now, the A1 with the 1.6TSI would be the better platform.

I wasn't sure if there was actually differences in the suspension geometery (arm length, knuckles etc.) unibody and such.

Which wouldn't matter in world rally cars anyways since they are barelly shells.


also Correct on the displacement. It has now been lowered to 1.6L

The S3 will probably have the aluminum rear suspension cradle, the TTS and TTRS had the same underpinnings. The aluminum suspension arms and stuff were always available on the S3. The "sport' limited slip differential might be RS exclusive.
