What can you do to keep the under hood temps down in a turbo car?

This thread is to discuss and ask about different ways and/or specific products to keep your under hood temperatures down in a turbo car. Maybe what options work better in different cars .

Well mine has a giant hole right over the motor and exhaust manifold. Works well.

I have dual puller fans to pull the hot air up and out. My application is a little bit different than most, but same concept. Under hood temps aren't easy to deplete, but bringing them to a more manageable level is possible. A turbo blanket, exhaust wrapping on the manifold, down pipe etc. helps. Heat Shields of course. That gold wrapping (expensive but effective) works well. The more air you circulate through, and the more you confine the heat in, the better. I'm always battling with heat.

under trays and skid plates setup right do help to create a vacuum space to pull away some heat as well.

They have this heat shield chimney for the Forester. It's basically a.shield with a hole in it and chimney type vent that goes right up to the hood scoop. So the heat from the turbo goes up out out the.scoop instead of heating the IC. And when your driving air from the.scoop is going.down the chimney forcing the hot air down.

This is neat. That price though..

I wonder if hood spacers would help.. Air is being forced into the engine bay more than most cars. It's a cheap mod to try out.
