    CEL came on

Obviously going to run to autozone or something this weekend but the CEL light came on in my car on my way home from Boston tonight. Temp gauge was normal, no other lights came on, no performance issues or weird knocks/pings from the motor either. did a little research when I got home. seems for whatever reason these 07 2.0s have an oil burning issue. going through a quart every 600-1200 miles depending who you talk to? my next oil change isnt for 2k. I'm thinking about taking it to Audi for a complete once through. yeah yeah, I know don't waste money on dealerships. but I'd like to know every little thing that is or could possibly become wrong.

sorry, little off topic rant there lol do any of you 2.0t vw/audi guys know first hand if there is a legit oil burning issue? I can live with regular oil changes every 5k and adding a quart every 1k or so. I just hope its not something more. like I said, light wasn't on when I went down and didn't notice the slightest difference in performance on my way back. thanks.

I wish I had my scan tool on me, I'd tell you to swing by my work right now and we could scan it. It's probably a dumb emissions code .

No clue on the oil thing but personally I change my oil and filter every 3k.

      1) don't spend stupid money at a dealer when you'll get better, more knowledgeable service, for less money, from Haleem at HM Motorworks.

      2) check your oil.

      3) Haleem may have a tuning option for you. He's considering becoming a REVO dealer. We can talk more when your CEL is resolved.

I assumed it was something dumb like an o2 sensor because I didn't notice any difference in drivability. smh, too late to do anything now. just hope it doesnt come back serious.

check ur oil real quick b4 u leave tomorrow to make sure it isn't dangerously low then stop on the way to/from work and have them scan it will only take a minute, at least u will know what's up

Actually after long brainstorming sessions I'm thinking its actually the oil being blown thru my intake and messing up the sensors along the way

But back on topic.. The FSI does burn oil. Usually 1qt every 3-5k miles..

You will be able to hear a light ticking noise from the engine when it gets low long before the no oil pressure warning comes on. It's best to leave a extra qt in the trunk just in case

When you get out of work today? (friday). I can bring my scan tools to strange brew and we can scan it. I know you mentioned maybe going.

Also the cel being on isn't a big deal just look out for flashing. If the.cel light flashes , shut the.car off. That's multiple misfire catastrophic kind of stuff.

I can only go by what you say ,

Not trying to be a dick or anything , you had posted that list of issues including a missfire and blown turbo.

The guy is new to vw/audi , don't need to scare him with misinformation, that's all.

I'm not working right now cause of the move up here so I have a ton of time free. my plan was to go to AZ in the morning and have them check the code. obviously checking the oil level before I start the car in the morning.

just checked the oil. could maybe use a quart or so. not 100 percent sure that the oil level would have been enough to set off the CEL though. ill find out more in a bit when I head over to AZ.
