want to tune my car any suggestions

im looking to tune my 02 eclipse gs with the boltons that i have right now for 93 octane to get a little more power and make sure its runnning 100% with my upgrades any ideas or tips on what i need to buy for parts would be greatly appreciated thank you

how are you looking to tune it exactly? just for power gains? you could get a full standalone system... or just get a basic air fuel controller. i personally like to stay away from "black boxes" (systems that trick the stock ecu) but there are tons of options. one thing you will definately need is an air/fuel gauge and sensor. AEM makes a great and reliable one (pricey though) Just google it and you can get all kinds of great suggestions and other things that other people have used. just do some searching...

or one of my best recomendations would be to talk to Alex (OVRBST) he could probably help you out the most, not to mention do the tuning for ya on the dynojet at Granite State Dyno!

i was looking at andys autosport.com and they have a Apexi Piggy Back Programmers - AFC Neo Fuel Management that does a whole bunch of stuff plus also has a bunch of different monitoring modes that i can watch to keep an eye on my car here is a list of the features of the product let me know if it may be a good fit..................Key functions include:

N/A 2.4L 4cyl 4G64? Standalone/Piggyback is a waste of time. Dont hack up your wiring harness to tap into everything for 3HP.

Yeah Intake/Header/Exhaust is likely your best bet, then you are looking at ~30HP after that the next step would be n2o. The 2.4L in the 3G eclipse is a tough starting point.

i didnt think i would even come close to getting 30hp with intake/header/exhaust but i would not know where to start for n20 as to how much spray my motor could handle

From what I hear he may be able to squeek out a few extra ponies (possibly up to 25hp??) using ECUFlash. I was under the impression that ourECUshad a VERY conservative tune written to them.

When I said "hardware" I wasreferring to what TUNINGhardware you have. You must purchase some electronics pieces if you want to tune a 3G. They include but are not limited to:

Tactrix cable & ECUFlash software
SAFC2
Emanage

There's maybe 7-10 whp to be gained out of a tune and the same amount of torque. Don't bother with piggy backs. I can open source tune your car. Same way we do Evo/WRX/STI/etc.

Can't tell you if it's worth the money or not until you do it. 4G64 can take a 50 shot without much trouble. Anything more then that and I'd consider a headgasket.
