If you really want to keep the speedo, there are options. You could get a different tail housing or use a speedo converter box (basically a variable electric motor controlled by your electronic speedo input). Neither option is cheap.

Unfortunately its a six bolt housing from a 98, I saw the box, 280 is steep, I opted for summits 6 gauge digital display, $300 has speedo, tach, oil pressure, water temp, fuel level and volt meter. It also comes with applicable sending units and seems pretty easy to setup.

Looks like a mess but I have starter signal and signal to the fuel pump and coil, going to try for spark tomorrow and also for injector pulse, if I have that I'm golden and this project will be nearing the home stretch.
Took another couple hours on the wiring, figuring the pin outs to the fuel and spark computers to get the fuel pump and radio suppression relay to work, ground issue.

Long day in the shop making the franken pan. I figured summit racing probably doesn't sell notched Volvo pans so I made my own. Had to grind the tit on the center of the torque converter down for the aluminum adaptor plate, bought stainless bolts for the converter in hopes it won't send a false signal to the ignition, cut the adapter plate for the crank position sensor. Had to grind the stainless bolts to clear the trigger wheel and the riveted ring on the flex plate. A long day in the shop but the devil is in the detail and as much as I want this done, waiting for things to be done so I van put it together once without having to do things later is the goal.

I hate you so much right now. My first car was almost a 73 Nova. Nice project, uber jealous.

Long story short it was a little old lady car, thing had 8,000 miles on it and was still rocking its dry-rotted factory original tires. She took it to church and the store almost exclusively. Said I will take it and ran off to the bank, being as this was going to be my first car I needed a ride so it took me a bit. My neighbor heard me talking about it and he got there and bought it out from under me, brought it home and put a for sale sign on it for some stupid price. Its still sitting in his barn now slowly sinking into the dirt.

After looking at the break pedal i will take a guess that this car really only has 39000 miles on it, i would think if it reset that the pedal would be worn through.

Wayne Russell uses these on performance builds, this should be the last piece of what i meed for the Nova, now its just a bunch of fab and assembly. Having ACP powder coat some stuff then its going together.
