    xxr 527's

    Hey guys,

I just bought my next wrx, its a 2007, and the rims on it have to go. Im looking into getting some xxr 527's in flat black, probably 17's, also with tires. Unsure specifically what kind, just trying to get a ball park right now. Just wondering what i'd be looking at for price if I got them from you guys instead of some other online place because from everyone on here it seems like you have the best service and prices.

    thanks!

Be aware that the look of those wheels changes greatly with the offset. Factory subaru tire width and offset won't give you the deep dish look you see a lot of. I don't know.if that's what your looking for but just wanted to mention it.

Either way Gene will take care of you but if you want a more extreme fitment you need to do the leg work yourself.

I was reading about that somewhere, and was going to see what that was all about. So what would need to be done to get a look like this?

If you want the look like you posted above be prepared to roll your fenders

Also If you are looking for a good summer tire that gets decent tread life I'd recommend the falken fk452. Best tire I've owned IMO

So how much offset would I be able to get without having to roll my fenders? I dont want it to be that aggressive looking, but thats the best picture I have of the 527s on a subie.

Probably not much..lol there are a lot of factors. Ride height , tire size, wheel width .

Best thing to do is look for a wheel thread on nasioc where people post there wheel fitment .

We are getting a little off topic for this vendor section. Here are some fender rolling threads .

once you get the size figured out I definitely recommend Motostar to get them and tires for it.

Here is the pre order thread on the 527. also i believe i talk a bunch about what will fit on a Subaru in there.

Prices may be different as that was a pre order and is a old thread. I did notice the last post says pick up price will be cheaper .

And this is the thread I was talking about with the fitment discussion . Unfortunately it's mostly about my Forester .

Also Matty on here had a nice fitment on his sti with a set of grids. Should be able to get his specs from him.

Thank you everyone for weighing in on the style and likely requirements that BlackGT will have to make to his WRX before the desired look will be achieved. The XXR 527 is available in several widths and offsets, from the picture provided I believe that WRB sedan is running one of the wider, lower offset versions, thus resulting in that flush to the body look.

More than likely they are running the 17x9.5 +20mm in combination with a medium to high stretch on the tire, both of which more towards the extreme end of the scale fitment wise for a Subaru WRX.

This is not to say that it is impossible. If you are familiar with the Purple WRX that runs around this area. . . Motostar has done most of the owner's wheels for the last couple years and he runs extreme for everything he does with the car. However to achieve that look he has also had to mod the car quite a bit to accomodate the very low offset, and large width.

Motostar offers no guarantee fitment wise when you venture that far off the recommended sizing path. If you want to go for it we won't stop you, but we also won't accept returns of experimental setups that have gone awry unless the product is in unmounted brand new condition.

Pricing wise that old thread is no longer valid, but if you have a size, width, and color that you are interested in I'd be happy to pm a quote.

I personally ran the XXR 527 Flat Black 17x8.25 +35mm on my 2008 LGT paired with a Bridgestone RE070 225/45R17 this past summer. I rolled my fenders a couple years ago to give the car a little more room when I wanted to run a wider fitment than standard subie 17x7. I would only rub occasionally over a large bump with the 527 setup, usually in the rear of the LGT where the fenders have even less room. If you are looking to stay mostly stock, then the +35mm is a low of an offset I would recommend.

I found this while searching around nasioc on the xxr thread

I like the look of this.
These are 18x8.75 +35. I couldn't find any pictures on there of anyone running 17s that werent crazy aggressive. Did your setup with the LGT look similar to this? I dont want to go off hardcore into experimenting with what will fit and what wont so I'm going to try to play it safe with what I end up getting.
