    Tire Prices are Going UP!!!

    Hey Crew,
We at Motostar Performance.com just wanted to make everyone aware that tire pricing across all product categories and brands will be extremely volatile in 2011. You can plan on several more price increases this year. We have already had 1-2 increases in 2011 depending on the brand. These price increases will occur for all businesses that sell tires across the industry.

The biggest culprit for these increases are the cost of raw materials. Check out this link, it shows you the rubber commodities price trend for natural rubber - http://www.indexmundi.com/commodities/?commodity=rubber

Pricing will not be trending downward anytime soon. A couple of the worlds largest producers of natural rubber are Indonesia and Thailand. Each time a brutal storm blows thru there and wipes out acres of land, it is destroying acres of natural rubber trees, which in turn drives pricing up. The rubber producers are doing their best to replace the trees that are destroyed, but unfortunately it takes a rubber tree 10 years to mature to the point where can produce the raw materials needed to build tires. Higher cost of materials = higher priced tires.

When Motostar receives an increase notice from the manufacturers we notify our customers and encourage them to purchase before the increase. We do not honor any quotes issued if an increase occurs, all tires are sold at the new price. We just wanted to make the forum aware of our policy regarding price increases and their implementation.

Call, PM, or email ejbova@motostartire.com with any questions.

Everythings going up for the exception of people avg yearly raise in there paychecks. The avg raise for someone won't cover the increase in gas price hikes never mind the actual cost of living increase.

So buy your summer tires now and be ahead of the curve and save some money!!!!

Absolutely get in now if you can afford to do so, as I said yesterday we are encouraging all of our customers to take advantage of the current pricing before the increases occur. The price fluctuations are the way of things in the industry these days. Those that can afford to make their summer tire purchase now will be saving 8-15% depending on the brand.

Thankfully wheels are stable, the prices that we get from the manufacturers will typically stay constant for the entire selling season which is def a good thing.

When do you think prices are going to start to increase? I guess it was better that I needed new tires now, then a little later when they become more expensive.

Most of the increases will be in effect the beginning of April.

MattyS2K - Sounds good, looking forward to it. What time were you thinking of coming by so that I can make sure I am available?
