    AC service?

Got any deals going on for an AC service? I probably won't be able to get up there before this heat wave breaks, but I'd like to get it done relatively soon anyway.

I bought the car ('98 Impreza 2.2l) earlier this year with the understanding that it needed a new tensioner and belt for the compressor... Turns out there was no pressure in the system either. I think it was vented to atmosphere during a clutch swap last year (before I bought it). I've already replaced the tensioner and belt, so I'm hoping it just needs to be evacuated and recharged.

Cool, sounds very reasonable. Now the question is when... I work down in Billerica and don't start til 930-10AM, so I'm usually here until at least 630. Are you available after-hours or weekends very often? I can get up there during regular hours if not, I'll just have to plan ahead a bit.

Forgot to mention this weekend is no good. Beach Friday and Sunday, and work Saturday. Sometime next week would probably be best, unless you're available late tonight or tomorrow night.

You should probably replace the dryer just prior to the evac service. If the system has a leak the desiccant inside is likely wasted already. If the system does not have a leak its a smart preventive item to take care of.

They are like $10 on rock auto.

You're probably right, but I don't have time to mess with it right now. I'm just gonna take a chance and see if the evac and recharge will get it functioning again, at least temporarily.

Mine in the Forester had been empty since before I bought it. Sep 2010 . Just had Haleem vacume and recharge and it's been working great. When it kicked on the first it flung rust and crap out of it and the next few times it kicked in it had some trouble engaging but I haven't noticed any issue's since.

So glad I did it before going on vacation , +1 for HM Motorworks

Curious on what it would run me to have a leak test performed? I know there's a leak, just don't know where.. do you have the stuff to locate it?

Its for the escalade-dual climate control so there's a lot of lines and refrigerant.... lol
