    Great Shop!

Got to see the new shop and Dyno at GSD and its a great facility. Got to see the dyno in action with the 2 as well unfortunately things didnt go as planned. (blew a head gasket) but ill definetly be fixing that in the next couple weeks and getting this thing back on the dyno. In the meantime here is a quick run on the dyno.

Hopefully in a couple weeks ill have this back together and we can look to get 400+hp

thanks for all the help alex

well throughout the tune i kept noticing that it would build power up to about 6k and then it just kept leveling off which i am not realizing that it was leaking compression out the head gasket. So it was putting down about 365whp at around 6k. So it will definetly make more. I am gonna get an MLS headgasket cuz i think the problem was the Toyota factory one just couldnt hold up. Got the head off yesterday and here is an update pictures

            HOLY COOLANT!!!

Look at the head gasket warp.
DETONATION????? Maybe too much boost for this setup to handle??

You have to mop up the coolant and look at the very edges of the piston to see det damage. The HG warped like that due to one of two things.

                1. Head/block was not 100% flat, or not torqued in that area. Cylinder pressure pushed the gasket out of the way due to lack of clamping force.

                2. Head gasket leaked coolant into the cylinder, ensuing MASSIVE cylinder pressure (Can't compress water/coolant) had to go somewhere under the compression stroke. Weakest link was gasket.

Always good to see an OBVIOUS reason for a problem.

^^^HAHAH, yea i know right. i like when the problem is a big glaring issue.

I see what your saying alex that makes more sense then. Well i am getting a new cylinder head (i think my is warped) and then an MLS head gasket. Also while i am at it i read some bad news about the Engle Valve springs in my car saying that they are not designed correctly which can cause harmonic vibrations and wear of the valves so i am changing those out.

But in good news alex i think we found my "phantom" coolant leak that i had haha. For a while now i had noticed a small loss in coolant and air bubbles getting into the system so my guess is coolant had slowly been leaking past the gasket and all this extra boost we had been running made it that much worse. Better to find it this way then when i am driving somewhere.

So this thing will be back up and running in a couple weeks. Also alex on the issue of the spacer for the intake. I talked to someone about having one made and they said it wouldnt be worth it unless the spacer was at least 1/2" thick and with that type of thickness i am gonna have clearance issues with the intake mani to the backwall. I think the #'s with the temps may have been skewed anyway due to the issues it was having but i think im gonna try and just relocate the Temp Sensor to a better more accurate location instead for now.

sucks not sure if the mr2 was like the 7m supras but the OEM headgaskets werent junk, but the factory torque on the bolts was. so on those if you could torque them correctly before too long you could save them. but idk about the mr2

i am running arp head studs so i dont think it had anything to do with the torque down of the head. But i know the factory gasket is really not meant to take this kind of pressure
