Looking to get a tune soon

Hey Alex, I just bought a 2004 wrx and am looking to bring it up and get it tuned in the nearish future, hopefully in a month or so, but I have a few questions first maybe you could help me out with because I'm getting mixed answers. My car is entirely stock right now, but it came with a SRS turboback exhaust that hasn't been installed yet, would I be able to install the DP and catback now, and drive it around for a while before I get the tune or would that create problems? Like I've read that it's a bad idea for 04+ because of the ECU or the EMS or something or other like that, but my brother (Brett, WTFWBBD) told me back when he had his wrx he had both the downpipe and the catback on for awhile before tuning it without running into any problems. So now I'm just trying to figure out now if it's worth it or if I should just wait till I come up to get it tuned so I don't ruin anything.

If you know anything about this subject for the wrx's and have any input on the matter it'd be greatly appreciated!

if you put it on now your muffler bearing may go bad, be careful!

you'll be ok if you put it on now. I suggest not beating the sh!t out of it until it gets tuned, but I wouldn't worry about hurting it, or destroying the drivability. The only thing you may get is a boost spike which may lead to fuel cut and a CEL. Other issue may be a possible P0420 CEL code which is a Cat efficiency code some cars will throw with cat/high flow DP's.

Oh awesome then I'll definitely be putting that it on this week. I had a feeling my brother was right that it wouldn't create as many problems but just wanted to get an extra opinion. So now that that is answered I have another question, Im planning to get a uppipe and turbo inlet also to add on with the DP and catback exhaust before getting it tuned, do you have a rough idea at what kinda of number's I would be looking at making with those mods?

You're looking at around 250whp with those mods on a stock turbo.

i don't know.. i change my mind daily.. you can buy it.. put it on the rabit, it wouldn't know what to do with all that air.. lol

The intake on the rabbit is like 12x 4...lol I think the 3 inch may be a restriction
