    Yes... another new guy thread....

    Hey everybody,

I followed a link from over there that brought me here to sign up for the recent Kanc Cruise, and I figured I should introduce myself formally. My name's Tony, and I like cars. For some strange reason, most of my cars for the past 10 years or so have ended up being silver, hence the stupid screen name.

Some of you guys might know me from NASIOC; I've been on there since 05 when I bought my old 2002 WRX wagon. I now have a 2009 WRX 5-door, as seen below on the cruise:

I also have a couple of old 1979 Trans Ams in various states of mechanical flux. And if any of you guys have heard of the Grassroots Motorsports $20xx Challenge, I am part of a team that fields a Turbo Miata in their competition in Gainesville FL that they hold each year. I hope to stick around here for a while.
    My Cars:
    -2009 Subaru WRX 5-Door
    -1979 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
-1979 Pontiac Trans Am 10th Anniversary Edition

Thanks for the warm welcome! yeah, I'll have to dig up some pics of the cars for you guys. Let's see....

This is my daily driver 2009 WRX. There's not much done to it except for a STI rear sway bar, a Kartboy short shifter, and Kartboy shifter bushings. It's pretty fun as it is, and is quicker bone stock than my old tuned and modded 02 WRX, which impresses the hell out of me. I'm going to be doing brake upgrades to it soon (the Kanc cruise was not nice to them) and sometime down the road I'll do an open source tune to it.

Here's one of the 1979 T/A's; The body leaves a lot to be desired at the moment, but under the hood is a 414ci all Pontiac V8 with a TH350 Auto (for now, hopefully converting it to a T56 someday), and it's a WS6 car, so it has 4 wheel disc brakes and some other suspension goodies right from the factory. I also has some pretty cool period speed parts like aftermarket aluminum fender braces, a Hurst Dual Gate shifter, and a Trans Am Specialties 170mph calibrated speedometer. It's a running, rolling resto.

Old pic when I first got it in 2002:

This is the other T/A, a 1979 10th Anniversary Special Edition. This one has the 400/4-speed manual combo, which is very rare in a 10th Anniversary car (one of 1,817 built) and has every factory option. This one's up next for restoration after the other one is done. This baby was the best the disco era had to offer, complete with mirrored T-Tops and a swanky digital 8-track tape player! The rust on this one scares me.

And this is my buddy's Miata that we campagn in the GRM Challenge, in full race trim. It's a 91 with the 1.6, but it's got a small Mitsubishi turbo from a Plymouth Laser RS, with a home-built Megasquirt computer controlling the chaos. The wheels are from a early 80's gray market BMW 323i that was in his yard, and mounted on there are some Craigslist Special Hoosier slicks. We came in 4th overall last year out of over 60 cars. The car is hilariously awesome, and will scare the living crap out of you!

                Hope you like them!
