Greets!
Just joined up to take a look around.
General greasehead since birth [I think]. I own a 1997 Miata R Package that I drove back from Idaho Falls. Former National AutoX winner with all log books, former National Spec Miata car with all spec body parts, and the cool decals. 27,000 miles. Right now, teacher friends at the local vocational school are rebuilding/replacing belts, hoses, water pump, complete brake and suspension rebuild, etc. When mechanical is done it's into the body shop for a stripdown, ding removal and new Classic Red paint.
Can't say enough about letting voke schools do repair and bodywork: I've never been burnt. Total Cost:$800 in parts, which I bought and $1800 for the paint and supplies. Total cash out: Less than $8000 for a sweet car: #9 of #49. Plus a fantastic roadtrip from ID to MA: 2500 miles in 42 hours driving: Friday @ noon to Monday @ noon...
All that's left is finding a shadetree technician to change out the noisy trans bearings.
