I just have to ask, were you annoyed you got an 08 when the 09's came out with more power and a little better suspension? In my opinion I'd be a little mad since the 08's and 09's are about the same price. Nothing against your car (if it sounded like it from this post), I think its real nice.

Yes i was a bit upset when the 09's came out with 265hp, but i got a pretty good deal on the car. the 09's came with 40% stiffer suspension. I plan to get a set of coilovers. For power, the 09s came with vf52 turbo, which are larger then the legacy GT turbos, the scroll and compressor wheel is same size as the sti turbo, the but housing is a big smaller if i remember correctly. I can purchase the vf52 at the dealer for $1100, unless i find someone to use their employee discount. Install is a direct swap, need a tune and thats it, everything else engine wise is the same. With new injectors, TMIC, 255 fuel pump many people have hit over 320whp and tq #s of around the 380-400 range. These 2.5 flat 4 motors can produce some amazing torque.

Not sure how I missed this but welcome to the site.

When you got protuned what #'s did you put down.

I've got a 2006 wrx limited and got Cobb stage 2 and waiting to get my VF39 installed and then protuned. I'd hope to see around 300whp and low 300's for TQ myself, again welcome

yea you've got a pretty sick car and a good platform to build from. do you plan on doing any of those mods to your car? honestly, if you're going to get an aftermarket intercooler i'd say get a front mount over top mount, unless you can get a real good deal on the top mount. other then that the fmic will cools better, idk why the sti still comes with a tmic. but good luck with the car and the mods (if any) that you do to it.

I love the wheels/lugs set up!

Do the 08s have the same blow up problem as the 09s? Or is it directly related to the extra power?
