    Hey New Chica

Hey whats up, im Jess. I have an 06 Cobalt SS/SC. I recently rebuilt the motor. Only thing I didnt "have my way with" was resleaving the cylinders, and rebuilding the transmission. I left that to a machine shop & trans shop. She has just about 5k on her since the overhaul.

Not a whole lot done to it performance wise, I just wanted a fun daily. I already had my way with a project car with my ol built/turbo Cavalier.

Big thing is my 10.5:1 comp ceramic coated Diamond pistons (stock 9.5:1). Soon to be installing my Cobra heat exchanger as well. Other than that, the usual odds and ends

Here she is as she sits now. Few more things coming exterior-wise:

The intake manifold does not favor #4. Poor design on GM's part. Less air flow compared to the other cylinders. It is the most common problem. Did your customer go with a TVS? Lots of disapointment with that blower on stock pullye. Takes some tunning skills to break 300s with the stock pulley. Its been done tho. Fun cars to build!. Where is your shop located?

Looks like an awesome project, good call going with the better heat exchanger--usually cooling is the biggest concern for the roots style blowers. I know the jackson racing supercharger for the focus just blows hot air over 10psi and the only way to utilize extra boost with that setup is to use methanol injection on the manifold area. Welcome

less air flow? so that cyl would run richer and be less prone to detonation damage (ie land damage)
u must mean it gets too much air.... that would make more sense

rb26's are known for that as well.... the intake manifold design causes the air to "stack up" in the back leaving 6 the lean hole.... most internal engine damage on rb26 (besides bearings.... UGH) is the lands crack/break in between the two rings on cyl 6 from detonation or a rod bolt will snap (500-600+HP).... lets not forget about their infamous oil pump problems too

The reason I had to have my cylinders resleaved was because the #4 practically melted. The ringlands were shot and it was getting such bad blow by the cylinder wall was basically steam cut, as was the piston. The #3 also had cracked ringlands. Thats not even counting what happened with the valvetrain.

Lets just say its last owner gave it a rough life.

sounds like typical detonation damage to me.... did it have a pulley? sounds like too much boost/bad tune

tuned on a 2.7" for 22k miles of non-stop track abuse.

i have it on a stock pulley now with a new supercharger considering it has the high commpression pistons.
