Hi, been lurking for a few days, I figued i'd post an into. I Joined reklessracing.net's forums and was told about this forum when I was looking for meets in New Hampshire.
Anyhoo I'm 26 just moved to New Hampshire, Working in Mass. I work in the IT field, moved to the area for a job. My hobbies are PC Gaming and Cars. I help put on LAN parties back home, we just had our 160 man LAN in February and are planning a 250 person event. I a geek, I build PC's for friends, I build mostly overclocked and water cooled gaming machines. I have a water cooled Core i7 920 running at 4.0GHz and SLi 285GTX's for my main PC.
Anyway, this is a automotive forum so about the car. My daily driver is a 08 GTI 6-speed. I haven't done too much to it, just your standard chipped GTI. I have a Neuspeed intake, APR ECU remap, EuroJet PCV revamp, Forge diverter valve, Boost guage and some other odds and ends. Don't really have a camera or I would post pics (My cellphone pics = fail). I have a video of my car on a dyno when it was bone stock getting a baseline 197HP/216Ftlbs, after only a ECU reflash I was putting down 232/282.
I have a bigger front mount inter cooler and a 3" turbo back exhaust that I have been waiting on a nice day to install. Dunno about the exhaust as the New Hampshire cops/inspection stations aren't to thrilled with aftermarket exhausts, its not the crazy loud buzzy coffee can type so I think I can get away with it. I don't really want to do much more to the car, some summer wheels but that's about it. It spikes to 23psi and will hold to 15psi at redline, the tiny stock K03S turbo and down pipe are holding me back at this point.
I haven't been to the track in my GTI yet, id like to get back on the 1/4 mile and try some autox this season. It is fairly quick on the street, Ive been trying to avoid tickets and for the most part been successful. I read about the cruise next month on the vwvortex and plan to attend.
