Hey whats goin on just thought ide register here and see whats up.

i recently sold my old car (Impala) and purchased a new 2 me car, its a 1992 Saab 9000 Series, has a 2.3L Direct Injection Turbo and a 5 Speed Stick, huuugeeee improvement in all areas over my old car, not to mention it has heated leather seats / sunroof etc, completely loaded

when i purchased the car the previous owner had installed a 3" Turboback exhaust, no cats, no resonator, just a dynomax muffler. Also has Fenderwell intake, solid motor and tranny mounts and is Lowered a good amount with aftermarket struts as well not just springs, all thats left now is to purchase a boost controller and up the stock boost and see what this cars capable of with just minor boltons, its got some lag but about the 3K+ mark it pulls hard all the way to redline

Anyway, onto the Pics, the cars been kept mint by the previous owner, i could literally still see my reflection in the paint and its a 92, so that says something.. im probobly going to debadge it, nightshade the taillights and paint the spokes of the wheels black other then that probobly leave it stock looking. Enjoy

nice car dude, i would also invest in a boost gauge, better intercooler, wideband air fuel, if its not spooling till 3 it doesnt seem right.. cause i believe those run a garrett t25? someone chime in if i am wrong and thats a small turbo, could be a timing issue or something.. but other then that mint car dude

Yeah this ones toyed with, I need to get a boost controller because as I believe stock boost is something like 8 or 10 pounds but I've heard of people being able to run 17 on stock ecu before fuelcut whereas the 900 series was only good for 15, so in any case its good for a lot more just gotta toy with it

Yeah you might have to up the fuel pressure or change out the size of the injectors or something. Also if the tranny in this is the same (or similar) to the ones in the 900 turbos then its junk at anything above 210whp or so. I would think 17psi would put you well over that (unless the turbo is just blowing heat at that point). Either way good luck and welcome to the site!

Yeah, its direct injecction so I don't know if its as easy as just throwing in bigger injectors or not but stock fueling people are running 23pds on with a stage 3 ecu tune so it should handle it weakest link is stock pos intercooler

I do know of a member on the saab forums that is currently running 370whp through a stock 9000 gearbox without problems, he has upgraded big turbo n the whole 9 he also stated that the gearbox was the weakest link when making big power but he himself hasn't had any problems and he is running more power then ide ever shoot for with this car
