    New- Concord Area

    Hey guys whats up?

New to the site, sent here by George with the Focus RS

I drive an '05 Ford Focus ZX3, not much as far as mods so far. I have...rather large plans for it though.

    So far, mods are:

    Engine:

    K&N FIPK Intake system
    Motorcraft Copper Core Spark Plugs

    Exterior:

    Clear LED Taillights
    Rox Racing RT2 Wheels

    Interior:

    Steeda STS w/ Billet knob

    Pics:

    Stocker:

    Wheels & Tails

    Interior/STS

Plans for the car within the next year:
(Not sure what brands yet, but heres the plan)

BUILT engine- 9:1 compression, cams, rods, head, Garret Turbo (24 lbs of boost), 3" exhaust
[similar focus with this compression + slightly less boost makes over 350 whp with the zetec engine...usually duratecs get more power from FI)

Dropped 2 inches, 4 wheel disc conversion

    etc etc etc

    You get the idea!

Me: I'm a full time student, and I work a full time job too, so I don't have much free time. Love cars, boats, pretty much the same thing as most 18 y.o. kids.

Can't wait to have the Focus boosted and tearin up the pavement.

    Nice to be here too

Plan= can't wait to really get started on it.

4 wheel discs is first...gotta be able to stop before you can go fast

      Probably gonna cost like...$1200

Well, when I say 4 wheel disc conversion I mean.... The calipers and rotors I want (as big as I can fit with those wheels) for a 400 hp car that needs to be able to stop on a dime at speeds without glazing up.

Not sure what I'm gonna go with for calipers yet...George recommended StopTech, but i havent had the time to look into them much yet.

Sooo yeah. Conversion = big brake kit and no more drums in the back pretty much lol.

Welcoming another focus owner I'd look into a focussport turbo kit if I were you--on 11psi on a stock engine it makes 250+whp and wtq on the 2.3L, stage 2 kit. Has plenty of room for growth. Needs a drop, check out focaljet.com in the sponsor areas you'll find something affordable. Got my drop springs from North Coast Performance in NY for $100 or less.

Polarisman, I've got the 2.0 and plan on keeping it

As I said, I'm building another 2.0 (out of the car so I can keep driving it til then) with 9:1 compression, and lots of boost. I'm not a big fan of kits, whats the point of a kit if you end up running a different turbo, and swapping out internals?

Might get the 2.0 bored out a little, but i gotta find out what I can bore it out to while running 20 or so lbs of boost without compromising the block. plus I'm not sure i wanna pay for custom pistons.

And yes, I know I need a drop. I'm going with a 2.0f/2.2r in the spring when I drop the new motor in. No point dropping it right before winter, as I don't have a winter beater.
