Hey Guys. My name is Chris Winchell, and I am 19 years old. I live right in Atkinson, and race at New England Dragway almost every week, of course when my car is not broken .
The car that I am currently racing and use as a daily commuter, is a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. I bought the car when I was a sop#!#!#!#!re in High school, and have since modified the car, and fixed it up.
I currently work for Grappone Toyota as a technician, and I also work on the side in my own garage. But, unfortunately most of it is on my own cars. I am also attending NH Tech in Stratham NH for Automotive.
Anyways, about the car. I decided to change my setup this year in hopes of going faster, obviously. Luckily, I was able to run a 12.4 at 115 mph last year. The car had a lot more in it though, but problems plagued me all year, so I didn't have the chance to max the setup out.
This years mod list goes like this:
rebuilt 6 bolt with 2g pistons and 1g rods
FP Green Turbo (50 trim)
Dsmlink
JFM sheetmetal Intake manifold
Non-turbo Eclipse Throttle Body
SBR Front mount Intercooler
1000cc Injectors
255 Wally fuel pump
ACT 2600 clutch and flywheel
Those are the important ones, obviously I have all the other little things to go with a setup like that (exhaust, intake, etc).
I also painted the car this year along with some of my friends. That was an experience all by itself.
My goals this year, is to trap 130 mph with this turbo, and to make 500 awhp on race gas. The turbo maxes out at about 585 on race gas, so I am giving myself the benefit of the doubt. ET I could care less about right now, because my transmission has seen better days and refuses to #!#!#!#! fast. But anywhere in the 11's is more then reasonable.
