    Oh Hello!

Hi everybody! I'm Jut (pronounced like boot but with a J). I'm pretty much fresh meat to the car community. I've owned my 2002 wrx since may of 2013, but its only been on the road for about a month. I bought it with a blown motor to learn how to rebuild it and it's been a roller coaster. I'm on the second full engine rebuild and I'm looking at having her on the road by May... hopefully for good this time. Last dyno I had 222awhp on a bad turbo and a lot of air restriction. By the next tune I'll have tgv deletes, a new exhaust from the up pipe down, blouche 16g turbo, nitrated crank, and ACL race bearings. Can't wait to have my Esmerelda back
This is her when I bought her:

And this is her transformation after:

Actually the two liters are quite reliable with proper maintenance. The turbo 2.5s are...less so.

And welcome WRXpanda, Mason is a cool dude, hopefully you and he can get the car back on the road soon!

Nice, I rebuilt my first one myself but spun a bearing 2,000 miles in. OEM crank with OEM ACL clearance bearings. No offense to mason or anything but I would recommend having a machine shop do the bearings. Everything else is really just bolting stuff in but the bearing clearance is very important. I had to purchase 2 sets of bearing regular and extra clearance for builder to mix and match to get the proper clearances. He says he does that for every Subaru build he does because Subaru machining is terribly in accurate. Same machine shop used by Kinetic, GSD and Ballistic to name a few.

We have Scotty from ballistic helping us out too I had that just happen to me after the 2000 miles from a warped rod that was not perfect from factory, so were having everything measured out before we put anything in

I think the 2.5 is also... If you leave it alone. Until I joined the Subaru world I was lead to believe that they were very reliable with bolt ons for ez power.. and its just not true.

That's good . I may have had a similar issue with my first build. I only replaced one rod and the.crank and the new rod is what spun again. #3.
