Midwest Transplant... holy curvy roads, batman!

    Hey y'all,

Just moved here from Indiana in January for a post-graduation job in NH. The curvature and elevation changes of your roads are far superior to most of the midwest.

I've had a myriad of cars, most of which were embarassing. Right now I'm in a 2014 Subaru STi 5D. No power mods yet, mostly little DIY stuff to tide me over through the winter. Nameless Performance ABE. Shifter bushings tomorrow afternoon. Swaybars next month. Typical small talk, y'know.

Before moving out here, I raced non-wing USAC/MSCS 410 sprint cars, midgets, and mini-sprints. It was a fun 8 years, but I gave it all up to move out here. Something will inevitably fill the motorsports void. RallyX...Hillclimb...Drift... who knows. It's only a matter of time until I build a track car

Anyways, I hope to make some connections up here and get with the car crowds. Purdue had a strong auto enthusiast community... time to find the same out here!

I'm an engineer for Ruger firearms. An engineering peer of mine drives an '06 STi, which he brought over last night to change his oil. He introduced me to misteR2upra on here.

Salt... moisture... rough roads...moose... what's not to like!?

I'll get some pics up tomorrow sometime. I have a new waterless wash concentrate that I've been wanting to try out. Now that we're experiencing antarctic weather conditions and the risk for frostbite is at its peak, I figured now was the best time to detail the car.

Which line are you working on? I was in woodworking, I sanded and assembled bolt stocks. Not sure if we ran into each other, but I did see a lot of STi's running around. There's plenty of subaru guys over there... lol

Winter isn't that bad for auto enthusiasts. It's the best time to pick up projects to improve the rides for next season. Absence makes the heart grow fonder!

I'm an engineer for the Single Action revolvers, so I'm responsible for more than a few lines. I've noticed other enthusiast-type cars there. The other day I was backing into a spot when either a lowered Lancer or a wingless new gen Evo came around the corner (it was pretty dim outside). He slowed down to a crawl and we exchanged waves. There's also a tuned 2.5i and what I think is a silver WRX sedan with an STi wing.

The waterless wash is Ultima Waterless Wash +. It's basically a quick detailer on steroids, an extremely high lubricity cleaner that allows one to simply gently wipe dirt off of their paint without microscratching it. When mixed a little stronger, it can be used as a "rinseless wash," where you wash your car like normal with a mitt and all, but you don't have to rinse anything.

I'm "not allowed" to wash my car at my residence (landlord pays for water)... so this is my work around. Plus, I'm pretty anal about keeping my car clean. This past month has been killing me in that regard!

That sounds pretty cool. I'd love to see a writeup of that wash when you do it. A how too of the process and a review , I'm sure others would be interested as well.

I resort to using the touchless wash down the street with a undercarriage wash, but I have to wait for above freezing temperatures.
