An inch would be perfect as long as it can be aligned to spec. I eat enough tires as it is!

Can anyone recommend a shop that can do a spring swap and a 4 wheel alignment?

    No headers, just the muffler...

I have used Mario at vintage sports and racing in BOW.
He seems to take pride in his work.
Boosted Euro and I did the spring swap in my driveway. It wasnt to bad.
I need to have it aligned.
The eibachs have a very similar to stock ride quality.

I will have to check out Mario. Very close to me.

Can you guys tell me if it requires special tools, spring comp, to change out the springs? I am pretty well equiped at home... never thought of doing it myself.

        A couple of track pics...

In the M3 at Mont Tremblant. My favorite track.

No special tools. An impact gun and 18mm wrench and a couple sockets and some elbow grease. I'd be happy to tackle it with you.

You dont want a spring compressor? If you do I have one you can borrow.

They have minimal pressure on them. Andrew was very worried for my live as I put em on the ground , placed my foot on it and hit it with the impact gun. Lol They just fell apart, no strut flying across the yard or anything . There was then a look of disappointment upon his face like when you get a dud fire cracker...lol

I mentioned this to Haleem (HM Motorworks) yesterday and he said it would be no problem. He could even do a track alignment if needed he just needs to make an appointment ahead of time to use the alignment rack as it's not in-house .

                        Just a FYI .

Dave we put H&R springs in my dads E46 m3 when a rear coil broke and it lowered it nicely. There is a issue with the E46 when lowered where there is notably more understeer - turner motorsport makes an adjustable rear control arm to correct the camber issues that wear these tires - the tire wear is just the cost you pay to have a car that drives like these do but you know that. Thats my two cents.
If you want to lower it with coils I would also suggest the Eibach springs with Bilstein Sports as they are much more street friendly and do not lower it as aggressively much but if you want a full kit I would do coil overs so you can adjust it how you would like and have upgraded shocks/struts also.
