megasquirt PNP is 800
you could get a used one or a DIY kit for a lot less. and you dont need a full standalone lol
if you really wanted to build a super budget turbo build, the fuel management is the easy part. just get the costs down on the other stuff and do it up! dont expect a crazy high hp build, but you can do it relatively cheap91 MR2 Turbo

well, like i said, it wouldnt be a high horse or super amazing build. but boosting a car just to get the job done, is not expensive at all.
buy used stuff. some parts the brand doesnt matter in the least. some stuff can be made by yourself.
exhibit A, most of the boosted honda's around here... lol
if it is of utmost necessity, i can try to source and find some parts and list them together lol91 MR2 Turbo

im assuming your car still uses an AFM. you could use a greddy emanage, or for the same money build your own MS system. that will put you around $400 new. search a bit, you can cut that in half.
get an adaper, or a new manifold. i found a few for just over 100 shipped. adapter would be cheaper.
ill sell you my T28 for a hundred bucks.
worst case that leaves you with around 400 left for a BOV, IC and piping, and a downpipe. easily doable for around 200....91 MR2 Turbo

Yeah, some turbos you can pick up for 100, adapter 100 (manifold 250 worst case), emanage 400, intercooler/piping/bov set can go for about 500, it's possible...
miatas are far from my thing though...better off talking to bayside or scott at Ballistic or the general...or etc etc...lots of miata guys on here...1989 Toyota Supra Turbo

Miata turbo is your best bet. I bought a Greddy kit from there for $500 shipped. Turbo, manifold, down pipe, and intake elbow. You won't find a kit with the intercooler on there for that price but honestly its cheaper to build your own from cx racing kit.
Fid a used MSPNP on there they sell all the time.
After thoes to you should be good for 5-7psi
Get the intercooler on, buy some 550cc rx7 injectors and a walbro 255 fuel pump and your good to about 20psi on a good tune
You'll need to upgrade the turbo to reach 20psi tho lol. I believe the stock turbo runs out of air at around 12psi-13 FRS
